There is so much wisdom in these words and jameson is calling Claire out and reminding her that he will not wait around whilst she is stalling, they are either together or not. As ever, an excellent and sensitively expressed point of view from Jameson, firstly in his whole approach to Iris and then in his attempts to make some headway with Claire. He is still agonizing about the divorce but trying to be decisive and do what's right. Your story, Gretchen is both moving (in respect to Iris) and relatable in the turmoil of this married couple. In the 5th paragraph, I love the line, "A walking think is more productive that a wallowing think." Good line. Would make a good inspirational poster.
Well, I'm glad he stood up for himself and stood up to her. It sounds like he was right, she wasn't going to change; she wanted a more affluent lifestyle, and he didn't.
I liked this chapter--he took charge.

Good for Jameson. It's time he took some control of his life. Claire is only concerned with herself. Not Finney, and certainly not Jameson. He's better off without her. Hopefully, he can pin down a visiting schedule with his son.
