Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. Yes, Jesus is coming again. I am sure He won't be happy at the mess we've made of things. So many people, at least in the US, are claiming not to be Christians that bothers me. Good luck with the contest.

The United States was founded on the principles of Christianity. Those who wish to adhere to a different doctrine may leave at any time.

Well, in the first place. Jesus did finish His work as He said in His last breath. "It is finished." I hope the best for you in the contest. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Ben. I always thought his last words meant that his mortal life was finished. Either way, I appreciate you taking the time to read my poem, and your comments are always welcome.

I think the second coming won't be quite the same as the first, the fist time He came as the suffering servant, and the Lamb that was slain for the sins of the world, the second as the avenging Angel, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, but this contest is a question, and in that you've written a wonderful post, beautifully written in articulate tetrameter, in abab rhyme, well done, blessings Roy

Well written and it presented a situation that could happen. We don't know how Jesus will appear to us, we do know He lives within every faithful follower. His sadness for our world must be palpable. K xx

Looking at The picture, people will know it's Jesus.
You did a good job in this poem to describe what the Bible says about Jesus.
I like this paragraph: " I spoke to him as one concerned
About the look upon his face.
He answered, and 'twas then I learned Of his fear for the human race."
I assumed you pray and look up to him for guiding our world.
Thanks for sharing.

Wow, Mystery Writer, what a powerful poem!! You had me from the first word, and the last sentence made chills run all over me, actually, to be honest, the whole last stanza was powerful!!
I like your physical description of Jesus as dressing well, but not fancy. That's how I would picture Him.
I could go on and on, but I think you get my point. I wish I had a 6 left to give it, but you'll have to accept a virtual one.
Take care, and good luck in the contest,
Rhonda

I think this man is Jesus Christ and he is the one who sacrificed peace for all of us. Well written. The sentences flow with clarity. Excellent work! Thank you for sharing!

Excellent piece of imaginative writing that speaks with conviction about this possibility. Very well handled rhyme and rhythm. Good luck in the competition.

Hi,
This is a great poem about meeting Jesus on his second coming. It would be hard to tell who it was if you didn't see him come down on a cloud as mentioned in the Book for Revelation. I would guess he would have a concerned look and be glad to see you recognized him by his actions and his scars. But, would you say yes?
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
