This is so so true...
Just doing it makes the free go away... well actually as I type this I realise that for me this is not always true... I do something that is scary and then never do it again...hey, but at least I tried...
Very good poem for the contest!! and I love the image...

Sage words. It is always better to face our fears! Once we weather the storm (real or imagined) we feel better..and fear conquered is fear diminished...

I'm a bit puzzled with that picture. To me, it appears something really threatening has happened to the boat. This is YOUR work, not mine, but I would've tightened and re-arranged the words. Example:
"We fear sometimes that
which turns out to be nothing
And safely pass through".
-Please do not think want to change your piece. This is just a demonstration of how language can be used in many ways to tell the same story.

Hello Andrea. You have nothing to fear from this review - and I can only give five stars right now. The general advice to face your fear is sound, but sometimes we need a friend or family member to face what looks impossible alone.
Then, from the other side of the mirror, maybe it was no big deal after all.
Thanks for this accurate senryu.
Well done.
Pau

I think I need to embroider your words here on a life-size canvas and give it to my husband, who seems to have his PhD in "hyperbolic worry."

Wise words and sage advice, both delivered with perfect syllable count and a picture that drives the point home even more.

Good luck to you. I hope to see this in the winner's circle!!
