Loved this, immensely. So nice to meet Jameson's little boy. He seems younger than six, actually? Is it the separation from a cohesive family? Well done and no spags.

I think you confused my short story about my grandson who is six. He was the one who held the diabetes in a box (donuts)
Jameson's son is three. Thank you for this extra star. Gretchen

Oh, I feel so sorry for Jameson and Heston. They miss Finny
so much. I wonder what is wrong with Claire? Why is she being so uncering about keeping her family together? So many of the young people of today cannot seem to stay together after getting married. Too many of the just live together until they get tired of it and then leave. No matter if there are children or not. Well done, Gretchen. Nancy:)

Thank you so much. Claire is more concerned with her own priorities at the moment. Thanks for the great review. Gretchen

You describe this sad situation well with your intuitive thoughts and endear the reader to the tension in this dis functional family and how Jameson wants to build bridges and mend this marriage. Claire on the other hand has issues which are unresolved and she won't talk about them. We will see how this story pans out, much enjoyed Gretchen, love Dolly x

The give-and-take between Jameson and Claire is tense -- very realistic. And I have some feeling for Claire's viewpoint. That's good writing. Clearly, this is Jameson's story, his too-desperate need for Claire -- or more, for a relatively happy home life with their son ... but I can sense Claire's near-suffocation. She does need space. Conversation can't be regulated between them. Also, kudos for Finny's temper tantrum. This can't be easy for him, either. All in all, a good chapter. I really wish I had a six.

Aw, this is such a sweet story. The child behaves like a child with a temper tantrum and sleeps like an angel beside his adoring dog. Too many writers leave out the bad moments and want us to remember only the good ones, but that isn't a real child. The wife comes off as someone he doesn't want or need back who is only keeping Finny away from his daddy as a power trip.

Iris summed her up well when she said that Claire was just stringing him along. Seems her own sister is also finding her tiresome and selfish. To be honest I find it surprising that Jameson still loves her. But he needs to get his son back before Claires's lies ruin him and turn him away from his own father. Very well written.

I think Jameson is like a lot of men who think divorce means failing. He also is under the spell of a pretty girl. But spells can be broken. Lol. Thsnk you for this astute review. Gretchen

This is a really great chapter you have penned. You used very good descriptive words. I can just see the dog and him being happy to see the little boy again. I wish they could work things out, but who knows! love and blessings, Teri
