You are getting all the SIXES! This was so lovely, close and endearing. We feel like we knew Iris's son. You tell the story so caringly and gently. It all becomes very real. No spags.

This was hard to read and review. As you know, I lost a son a little over two years ago, but it seems like yesterday. I'm so glad Jameson had sincere interest in Daniel.

I did not know this. I'm so very sorry to hear this. I'm glad you were able to get through it. I just came back on site last August. I was gone for several years. My deepest condolences. Gretchen

You didn't know. Thank you for your condolences. I don't usually read anything sad, but your stories are so good, I must!

They end where they need to end. My last chapter of my book ended today on Fanstory. This is a sweet story about a terrible loss. One that a parent can never expect, but sometimes worries about. You are writing a good story with a lot of heart. Only one suggestion: . . . I(')m sure.

This is one of those times I'm sorry I squandered my 6's on lesser posts. This was brilliantly written and offered the advantage of following on Jameson's last chapter. You explored loss from two different perspectives and it helped to deepen Jameson and Iris's relationship.

Good job!

Jayu

Thank you, Jay. I'm glad you are enjoying this. Honest opinion, is the dual first person perspective confusing? Gretchen
reply by Jay Squires on 21-Jun-2023
No, it's not confusing. My fear was that it might dilute dramatic focus, but I don't see that happening so far.

Yes, This friendship is going to be good therapy for both Jameson and Iris. Both have suffered a great loss and need to talk about it.Their dates will be Chicken Soup for the Soul. I love that saying. Good job, Gretchen. Nancy:)

I remember those books. The first one was really good, then there was chicken soup for everything. Lol. Thank you for this compliment. And the extra star. Gretchen

You get little interesting details in there so seamlessly. I love that. You make each chapter so real, and, of course, your characters.
I don't know where you're going to go with this story, but I have faith that it will go its natural course. Until next time,
Katharine

Thank you. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I had to keep it shorter so it wouldn't be so depressing. Writing about losing a child is tough so I didn't want to dwell on it. But I appreciate your feedback. Gretchen
