Well hopefully Fee will soon realise that his evil games are over. He would be foolish to try to escape. It's a concern that the grandfather knew where Simon was staying. Was a bit surprised at some-one reading a telegram for some-one else. Is that permissible? Just wondering. But ... very well written, as always.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review and kind compliments. Simon is a safe house under 24/7 police protection at the moment. We will give the Captain a little latitude here as he is trying to keep Simon and his new family safe as well as everyone on his team. Someone else knows about this arrangement, and the captain is acting prudently. Sending you my very best today as always.

Now he is in the hot seat a place he don't want to be,
Time will tell what is in inshore for him soon.
Good job Sal.

The Elling clan seems to know too much. Is there a mole among the trusted people or is a demon being helpful? Detective Law is certainly out to be sure Fee doesn't get away.

Another great chapter with lots more suspense included. Yes, we're wondering how Papa Cole knew about the wedding and where Simon was staying. Love the dialogue between the Blind Detective and Elling. I think she put the fear of God in him! Lol. Blessings & hugs. Carol

If there were a prize for the most marriages occurring between characters in a murder mystery detective story, this one likely would win. :))

In Section One, happy newlyweds Simon and Candace Elling realize they have time before her son Daniel wakes up and needs attention.

In Section Two, Betty Jo, who had fallen asleep on her couch, tired from all she had done for Simon and Candace's wedding, was awakened by Captain Hank Riley's motion to make some coffee, plus the sound of a vehicle, which turned out to be a Western Union delivery. Hank signed for it.

In Section Three, Hank opens the unexpected telegram, which is from Simon Cole Elling's grandfather, Greyson T. Cole, including a hefty check as a wedding gift. How he knew about the wedding and where Simon was is not known, raising the question of whether vengeful Fee also knows. Betty's tearful response prompts Hank to give her a close hug, which bolsters my notion that Hank and Betty will be the next couple to marry. It is most satisfactory that Love is step-by-step overcoming all the Evil in this story. Yet, there is much still to be resolved.

In Section Four, the Blind Detective confronts Fee at the hospital and makes it evident that he cannot trick her: "I see you very clearly." Perception is not limited to physical.

Superb. The depth of this story is impressive in many ways.

This is another excellent chapter to you recent book. Elling isn't backing down but he was surprised to learn the body had been found. Simon Elling is being protected but Betty doesn't feel he safe if his father finds out about the wedding. I'll be anxious to read the next episode.

Yet another great chapter. Always great reading. Is Grandfather as bad as Fee or does Grandfather even exist? I love all the angles you do through here with the romance and so on. No spags.

I am finding the story very intriguing, and it kept my attention the whole way through. There is one spot. Where are you meant to say softly and yet you left the key out of softly it's a ways down in the in the story I don't remember what paragraph it was. Patricia

Yes! She sees him very clearly because she sees the heart with spiritual eyes not the physical eyes that get fooled by the physical things. Great job with this and adding the new wrinkle about the check from the grandfather. Did he know because Simon withdrew money from his mother?
