Your free verse poem is like a breath of fresh air - the previous few I have reviewed have all been on the gloomy side and I just posted one of that type myself!

Here you focus on all of the positives you can get from life, even though you are heading towards your older years. Thanks for sharing the wisdom of your years and brightening my day.

Nicely done, Jim. You speak of "cycles of springtime". That is a very good choice of seasons in this poem. That last sentence was an excellent way to wind things up.

Sending you a virtual six star for this wonderful, well written poem. When reading, this story-like poem, I thought about the "thinking man picture" who was seated at a table praying. Do you remember seeing the old man's picture? Your last verse was beautifully written!

    Actually, Imwas thinking that I might have used that picture, but Imam saving that for a later insertion.

Hi JLR. A very detailed well written poem for this next quarter. I think many of us 'oldies' reflect life as you say .

I think it is very important that we go about spreading the seed of kindness, and love to those around us. And then, as we spread those seeds, we let the sunshine of God's love, bring the seeds to fruition for all those who need it. Patricia.

Loved this meditation as it's so full of wisdom like "I don't waste a single present moment on the blame game." I also liked that you didn't use years but "cycles of spring" to show the time past. Virtual six!

I am not convinced you are a simple old man. You are a little younger than me. But your poem says volumes about life and wisdom. Your poem has an easy flow about it that gives your reader a chance to walk along the beautiful path your imagery provides. Outstanding work. Terry.
