A good suspenseful setting: "Both were dressed in black, and it was hard to distinguish where Sally's tall frame ended and Fee's began." Clever:
"I reared back and heaved the rock as far as possible, stirring up the birds." The reader would be right beside you: "God help me. It was all I could do not to rip his filthy mouth from his red clawed face. Great...

I know not your intent, but if publishing is a thought, I believe the book will do rather well. Reading it on FanStory is a bummer because a reader who is follwing the plot wants to know what is next. Well done.

I thought from the tone that this was winding up to the end. But we get at least one more week of entertainment. Something seems to be unraveling with Tammy Perez. You are the master of keeping your reader on tenterhooks. Thank you for that.

This exciting chapter began tensely with Fee holding Sally too closely to assure a clean shot at him, so Betty Jo suggested a diversion, which worked well enough to allow the shot. Though Fee pulled her down as he fell, Sally was able to claw his face, giving Jean-Baptiste time to arrive and demand Fee drop his pistol and surrender.

I like the ensuing banter between Sally and Tommy in which they thanked each other and agreed no debts would linger.

Lucy, Fee's nurse at the hospital, realized his evil, and also recognized Tammy Sue Vance on a poster as Tammy Perez, one of Fee's staff he had tried to kill in his basement by the fire he set. That will help solve Sally's Cold Case and reason for being at Aspen Grove.

The list of charges Tommy reads to Fee is entirely reasonable. Though he pleads the Fifth Amendment about not incriminating himself regarding Tammy, the glimmer in Fee's eyes is enough to establish his guilt in Tommy's mind.

Accordingly, there is still much to be sorted out in coming chapters.

Superb, and aptly illustrated.

You are most welcome, Sal. Yes, the Tammy Cold Case still needs to be unraveled, plus Fee's trial and results. There's more to this story than we readers expected -- an indicator of a good suspense tale.

You are again welcome, Sal. My time on this has always been well spent. :))))) -- Mike

Still can't admit to his many crimes! I am glad they have caught him, but now wondering what has happened to Tammy - he has surely manipulated something to cause further harm. Your writing is excellent, with plenty of drama, and consistent characters, with whom we really identify. Well done.

Looks like you were too late for a SIX, sorry. What a dramatic read. Very detailed and direct. Loved this expression. The sun was "atilt" I wonder if it should be "a-tilt"??

It would seem to me they have a pretty solid case against the arrested felon in Fitzgerald Elling, how can anyone possibly be that evil? But then I'm glad it's only fiction, but there are, and have always been, men, or women like that. Beautifully written, blessings Roy

Thank you for the excellent review and insightful comments. Yes, he?s bad. There?s lots of evil people in the Bible. King Ahab and Jezebel for instance. Sending you my very best,

Sally, this was a great chapter and a very satisfying one, at that. Fee was a nasty character, but that has now been taken care of. I can't wait to be reading on. I wanted to review earlier, but I have been with friends all day. A few more reviews and answers to my reviews and I will be off to bed. A big hug, Ulla xxx

Madame Detective, I hope you don't mind, but please expect a longer than normal review this week from me!!!

Breathe, Debi Breathe..... I'm not far in when I want to yell, "DON'T HURT MY SALLY!" Oops, It seemed so true to life, and like it's coming from someone who has 20/20 vision. Not a single error that I could see.

I am reading and reviewing this chapter differently! I don't want it to end, so I read a little and then, "breathe," and write about how that part is making me feel, and then go back and read some more. Yes, this chapter is certainly showing my three weaker traits: ability to breathe when faced with too much excitement, procrastination and not facing up to the inevitable (running away).
Lol, see how you bring out the absolute best of the worst in me? Now that I have that one explained, I must go back and read some more.

Oh Jackson, you are a genius to know just how to let Sally know what an awesome weapon she holds within her at all times. (This time I am not talking about prayer) Bet you're happy you don't mind she gets those nails done regularly! And Jack, don't ever forget that she does. Lol!!

As I read the next section, I did so with tears the whole read. From Sal turning down the ambulance, and knowing myself she probably would not go to the clinic, and the exchanges of thank you's to each other while planning a little celebration that evening. Very touching. I felt so relieved that this is almost over for them..

Now to find that one of the staff may have been another missing person from Louisiana! Is there no end to this man's evil?

What a smug and rotten excuse for a man. It is an insult to a donkey to share the same reference as the name or word such as "Ass!"

In and out, yes, still breathing here! Girlfriend, how do you expect our hearts to keep up with such chilling, suspense and over the top excitement?

If Tom allowed us once a month to give a seven or higher review, this would be my choice. Honestly I am blown away at the magnitude of creative and exciting juices that flow thru-out your mind. Thank you for this Amazing and heart pounding chapter than has literally kept me holding my breath. You may not have needed the clinic that day, but I think I need to go get checked out!
Breathe, Debi Breathe!!!!

I don't mind at all, my friend and fan! Do breathe though! I'm glad you enjoyed it all, although a bit harrowing in parts. Okay... a lot! I'm delighted you enjoyed this one, and so very blessed to know I have achieved a seven stars review if allowed! I can't tell you what tjat means to me, especially among the very talented writerts and poets here on FS! I am beyond smiling, and crying joyful tears at the moment. You have blown me away, Debi dear.

As mentioned, I had the hardest time with this due to my eyes this week. I think I spent thirty hours on this, which is a lot. Usually it's around twenty hours a chapter, and that's a lot. Thank you for cheering me along!! I am deeply honored and blessed.

    Love and blessings always,
    BBB XOs!

Much action in this chapter. Glad that they got " Fee? under control so the fellow won't hurt anybody no more. Usually, I am not a mystery lover but I sure like your mystery stories.
