I am glad you found your true love, and working together as a team through nearly forty years of a loving relationship shows that inner qualities are more important than whether your shoulders are still square or not, and the wrinkles are "life experience". This is a beautiful poem paying tribute to your bride of forty years and the lasting love of your union. I enjoyed how the poem also touches on the physical changes over the years. Sometimes the mirror can be cruel - but love gives a true reflection. I also like how the years break up the stanzas. Nicely done.

A statement at the beginning of the Book of Ecclesiastes in the Old Testament. The pointlessness of human activity is the major theme of the book. Without God in the picture all is vain.

I really like your free verse poem about Love and Marriage. It reminded me of my husband and myself but I am the one who had all the surgeries. What I would give to be able to hold his hand again. (He died unexpectedly on 11/27/21. We were married 48 years, 3 months, and twenty-two days.

Dear Jan, my condolences for your loss. I nearly lost my wife to cancer five years ago, but by the Grace of God she survived. I know you life is richly blest by your long years in Oneness with a soulmate.
