Oh dear, is the moral of this story buy a decent car Jim? He he he, I loved your sweet natured story in 1967 when you owned a chevy, I bet it would be worth a few bob today if you had kept it. A fine write full of fun-filled memories, love Dolly x

A humorous touch here but not seen as amusing at the time, I guess! The picture is great and I feel for the writer in such a humiliating situation. Fathers rarely like their 'little daughter's' boyfriends!
