Hi John, this is a sweet tale of love. Your story has good descriptive writing within. I could see it, and I could hear it. Of special note:

Through the musty, staleness in the air, they slow danced to Etta James's, "At Last", or "Let's Stay Together", by Al Green. If they felt playful, they would disco to the Bee Gees in the hollow hallways.

(I can hear the music. Each of them needed an escape from life, and they got it. Unfortunately, reality always waits.)

A fun, whimsical photo. As this is a contest entry, I wish you good luck.

This story, A Peck on the Cheek, opens up a story of two friends who are now in a fool's paradise. They meet and pretend that theirs is an innocent date, outside of etch's marriage. The wish seems to be that they are living two lives, and anyone observing would agree and condone it.

There is something so sweet and sad in this story that, at some point, will end in disaster and shame for both parties.
Told so tender, you draw your reader in.
I enjoyed reading.
Best wishes,
Mary

Perhaps I am too pragmatic, but I just fear that if one plays with fire long enough, someone will at some point get burned. If the fire becomes intense enough, someone my even be consumed. Itis always fun and games until someone gets hurt.

That is absolutely true, which is why the story is fiction and not based on any experiences.
    Thanks for reading and sharing.

You did a great job with your contest entry, John. I enjoyed
reading it and believe it will receive many votes. I liked the
way you described the old school and the activities you and
she were involved in. The last line was telling of their secret
relationship.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan

When I was reading your story, I wondered if they slept at night being they were betraying their spouses. And they had children who they talked about? Could be an awful endng for sure.

You hooked me. I think perhaps because I'm this kind of a romantic. I believe two old friends can come together and a spark can be ignited. Sometimes these relationships can stay within moral boundaries and still create a new joyful dimension in both lives! Well written. I'm smiling and hoping there is at least a tad bit of non-fiction in this tale!

This is an adorable, sweet and tender story. These two characters found in each other what they were missing in their married relationship. Both songs by Etta James and Al Green were perfect for this story. This story is perfectly written. Best wishes in the contest.

Sooner or later, it will have to end and I thought you were taking us there. This is a good story for the Imagine the romance prompt. Will you conclude it is some way? It feels unfinished. Well written and would not mind reading more.
