Yes, that is the truth, which many forget to prepare for. Death first. You have summed it up well, and chosen a thought-provoking image to accompany your work. Best wishes for the contest.

Wendy, thank you. For me, the concept that we each have pass through the same portal into the unknown gives me much hope that our souls continue to evolve into Eternity.

Good poem about death. You did well with the writing prompt. Well written and your words flow smoothly. This is true we know that in the end, death comes next. Thanks for sharing.

That is the one thing we know that is inevitable. We generally just don't know when. We are, quite frankly, just hear for the ride. I really enjoyed your 5 7 5 on death. You cleverly packed a punch with this. Thank you for posting. Gretchen

hm great death poem for the contest - captures the fear and dread implied in the word death. We all fear it coming, and we know it comes for us all as Bugs Bunny said,
"relax doc none of us get out of life alive."

I totally agree. I often wish I was one who had faith that they know what lies ahead, but I am more in this mode. Lovely 5-7-5 presentation for the 'Death' contest. Good luck with it.
cheers

Valda, I agree. I think we each, in our own way struggle with the uncertainty.

Excellent entry for the Death 5-7-5 writing prompt contest. Good syllables count and connection between lines.
Everybody thinks about death at some point of our lives. We can relate.

Death is inevitable. You penned a nice 5-7-5 for the contest.
I'm trying to figure out why the Know in the last line is capitalized?
Best of luck in the contest.

John here is my response to your inquiry?- capitalisation of the word Know. It lends power and wisdom of the poem. An absolute rather than a supposition.

You too,

A very good job in a very short poem about a subject that cries out for more words. Just curious, but why did you capitalize the second "Know"?

Hi Paul, my thoughts ? capitalisation of the word Know. It lends power and wisdom to your poem. An absolute rather than a supposition.

Yes, that is so true. Once we are born, then follows a hopefully long journey that we all know will end with death.
I really liked your 7-5-7 poem, and I wish you the best of luck. Ulla:)))
