You build the tension and frustration between the two characters in a believable string of texts. Will they break up or stay together?
And then we find out--Oh, dear, the wrong recipient!
You made me laugh. Great job.

And I thank you once again for your awesome review and fun comments. I think that is why I love to do my fun endings on some poems; the reviews are so much fun! Thank you sweet friend for the smile you gave me in return!

I like the way you carefully build up the detailed image of the relationship creating this sense of uncertainty and probable tragedy! The twist at the end really completely demolishes the reader's expectations!

-Nice artwork and presentation, Debi.
-You wrote a good surprise sonnet.
-Effective imagery and rhyme.
-You set the scene very well in verse one
and follow that with some doubts about
the relationship and how he feels.
-A good third verse that shows how
you are concerned and want to
know if this has been a mistake.
-A good closing couplet with a twist.
-Well done.

I think this is so funny. I'll let my age show here, but where did old-fashion phone calls go? Not to mention the complete disappearance of love letters. Your little poem reminds us that by communicating love the old-fashioned way, at least you were assured of your recipient, number 1, and number 2, there was a little more assurance of privacy.

Lol, I wonder how many times that actually happens. That was a fun one, Debi, you had be going there. But that doesn't solve the riddle of where the real one is while she is standing in the rain, drenched to the skin by now!!!! Lol. Well done, my friend. I loved it. :)) Sandra xx

Well, that could be embarrassing. Lol. I thought this was going to be a Heartbreakers poem and you, Miss Debi, threw me a curve. Great poem. Gretchen

Ya know? Shakespeare didn't have all these electronic devices to mess him up! I laughed at this one, Debi ~ because I am one of the last humans on earth not to own a cell phone (gasp)---and yet when I borrow one I often manage to text the wrong person...or somehow manage to "group" text a few folks...so I have to mind what I'm saying!
Love in the modern age... "Romeo" (she texted) "Where art though?"
Juliet gets a text back: "Romeo? Sorry, this is Harold...wonr digits!"
(Hmmm. The bard would have had a field day with this!)
Funny stuff...
I loved your final envoi!

Hahahahaha!! You like that huh?? It just so happens that I have some very good friends, a couple very special ones that are kind enough to see a few screw ups and try to help me. A friend who takes the time out of their busy life to do that is the most special kind that anyone could ever have.
I absolutely loved your Romeo and Juliet version!!
As I do you, my Lady!
Thank you for your Eloquently Marvelous review and words for my sonnet, my dear friend. And thank you for being one of those friends. You are a precious gem and I appreciate you more than I can ever say!!

It is lovely to see you soaring on new poetic thermals, Debi.

Oops, what an embarrassing mistake that would be! I like the way the character goes through so many emotions, wondering if the relationship is over, and then wondering if she's made a mistake. Good foreshadowing that she has made a different error. Nice rhymes & good flow. Blessings. Carol
