There's a sentence that reads, ". . . then helped Willa with her hand full for the trunk." I've read it three times and I'm still not sure if Willa's hands are full with something and she's being helped to put something in the trunk?

A hint of romance is in the air with Tommy and Willa. I guess that will have to be put on hold given circumstances. Perhaps to be revisited at another time:-)

A good chapter, Sal. Love the way the dialogue carries the story and informs us. Looking forward to the next chapter. So glad I began reading this.

Hopefully he will live long enough to do some explaining. But who locked him in the barn? So Tommy is attracted to Willa, maybe an interest8n* side story here. Well done, engaging writing.

I like this story. Tommy seems to be working his way around the mystery of who killed his daughter. I like it that he has Willa to watch over him. I do have a question about one part of a sentence: . . . then helped Willa with her hand full for the trunk. Full of what?

Thank you for the excellent review and comments. Cops have stuff, I think you know that. Mainly kits for crime scene investigations that can't be left in the car. Provisions. Things of that nature. Sending you my best today as always,

This doesn't appear to be the writing of one suffering from writer's block. Oh, no! Welcome back, Sally. So Tommy Thompson is feeling the pangs of burgeoning love. Understandibly, you can't let it dominate the plot-line. He needs to have a single-minded purpose.

Great addition to your story.

Ok, Sally, we have a chase and an odd-looking dude still alive. Tommy sees, Willa Sams, as the other women in his life ": protective, nurturing, caring, and loving. I was safe with her. I could trust her. I could easily love her" How old is Tommy? Thank you for sharing.

Wow! With all the drama and suspense, you also are brewing a love story, too! I knew that Tommy and Willa were meant for each other. Now to find out more about the suspect and what he had to do with Phoebe's death.
Typo:
"I called the captain on the radio. (remove open quotes as this isn't part of the dialogue)

Thank you for the super review and generous star shine! I'm honored and blessed. Yes, a little romance is called for. Jay was complaining just a tinsy bit. I think it's necessary with all the heavy. Sending you my best today as always,

I am just coming into where I am getting the drift of things but why was this guy in a hayloft in a barn that was locked from the outside? Keep it rolling I will catch up.

Thank you for the lovely review and the super stars, and mostly for checking in. You have missed a lot in my new spiritual crime fiction. I hope you can read from the beginning. The first chapter is long because it was originally written for a contest. However, it sets the foundation and tells of the crime against Phoebe Thompson and spiritual going?s on in the town. I have angels and demons as characters in the story too.

All the other chapters have been kept shorter for my readers. Sending you my best today as always,

These chapters are just over much too quickly! Now I have to wait another week to see what the weird stranger has to say for himself! I enjoyed this episode and look forward to the next one.
