Hi Jesse, with your determined attitude and perseverance, I am sure you will succeed in the not-too-distant future. Just take it steady though, and build up your strength - you don't want to fall. Best wishes. Hopefully you'll be walking and out and about SOON!

Hello Wendy. You are certainly right I do not want to fall! I only know I won't, by taking it slow and steady as you advise.
Thanks for your good wishes and encouraging words. I wish you all the best, my friend!

This story, Progress on the Homefront, is a neat update that allows us to share the sometimes aggravatingly long process of progress from where you are now to where you want to be.

As an official member of "Team Jesse" I smiles as I read this. My friend, if I were a betting woman, I would NOT bet against you! Your progress seems phenomenal in a relatively short time. Your goals seem well thought out and each "baby step" will be a victory along the way. LOVE your final line here:
"Anything that comes my way I will continue to face, and I will do it in style."
Absolutely the Jesse I've come to know!
Eyes on the prize!

Yes, my friend, you are definitely on Team Jesse! I thank you for choosing the line that speaks to you the most. I know your belief in me has helped pull me through and it won't be long before I will be walking and running as fast as I can!
Keep my eyes on the prize!
Thanks for your kindness and caring.

Thanks, Jim for this complimentary review. Not only do you encourage me to walk but to write my progress as well.
I will keep you posted on my progress.

Wow, Jesse! You should start a new career as a motivational speaker! Your optimism is contagious and uplifting. Just the words "I was using a walker with four wheels to go up and down the hallway" were so exciting. That's way more than you could do when we first "met." As you've said, you can't run before you can walk, but now you can walk. And if it's with assistance, so what? It's still something you couldn't do before, and progress is progress. I'm so happy for you, and love that you're letting all of us take this journey with you every step of the way. How gratifying that there are now real steps, and not just metaphoric ones. Congratulations!!!!!!!

Hello Michele! I am thrilled to have you tell me I would make a great motivational speaker! I only know that you motivate me as you encourage me to go for it!
Thanks for the wonderful review and for the compliment of a lifetime!
Have a lovely week!

You're so welcome, Jesse. You've been through more than most anyone I know, and yet you have the most positive attitude I've ever seen! If you were able to relay to other people how you keep that positivity, you'd be such an in-demand speaker. Staying positive while enduring physical or emotional hardship is a talent and a skill. There are so many uses for that but, right off the bat, I think you'd do wonders with suicide prevention groups. People need to know how to find the good in their lives amidst the bad, and I couldn't think of a better teacher.

Thank you, Michele. Your morale boosts are what keep me going. I hope you are always in my life to offer me the love and care you give so freely.

You couldn't get rid of me if you tried!!!

Jesse, stay with it! You are doing great. These things take time. I had hurt my left arm very badly in a fall. It hurt to pick up a cup of coffee or put on a sweater. My husband had to dress me for months. After surgery and a year of physical therapy every day, I have regained full use of my arm. I'm glad to hear you have two physical therapists that are on your team. I await the good report. Sending you my best today as always,
Sally :))

Those of us who know you and support you are pulling for your success. I myself have my fair share of challenges when it comes to walking. I am not injured, I am just at age 79, overweight, out of shape and reluctant to do the work to get back in shape or a semblance of what passes as in shape.

You're an inspiration, Jesse. I haven't known you for long, but I feel lucky to count you among my FS friends.
Not giving up, that's what matters. I always love reading about your progress. Your impatience is understandable, but I'm sure you'll make it.
Keep us posted.

Thank you, Maria, for this inspiring review. I consider myself lucky to be your FS friend as well. Thanks for the extra star and for understanding how difficult it is to walk again after several years in a wheelchair.
