Sorry for another delay but life threw me a curve and I ended up on a plane to North Carolina and my grandchildren. Surgery for one and Nana's care for the others. I wish Chapter 17 was posted with a larger font like previous chapters. It's easier on older eyes.
This chapter moves the story forward leaving more questions. What will Cooper do with the information he received from Fenton? As usual, you end the chapter in suspense. What is in the mysterious package left on the stoop? You've provided the perfect reason to keep reading. I'll see you in the next episode.

I am curious what's in the box. It's a great hook. I am pretty sure Cooper will be able to put the pieces together. I can't wait to see how Hank and Emmie fit into all of this.
Fenton fidgeted with a loose thread on the cuff of his shirt, stalling till he was positive he was in control of his emotions. He wanted to be reassuring to his visitor. (Fenton is the visitor. I'm confused. Should this be Cooper instead of Fenton?)

Was his patient connected in some way to the jewels? Were the jewels from the infamous jewel heist?
(Internal thought should be italicized to delineate it from other types of speech.)
