How interesting, you're developing quite a collection of characters in your story Carol. The marvellous thing is, which I always admire about the writers of novels is their ability to produce an eclectic collection of characters, and interlink them, beautifully written Carol, blessings Roy

I am thrilled that you are finding my characters intriguing ... some good and definitely some not so good. We'll root for the good guys and hope for the best.

Well written. Enough background detail to allow the reader to visualise the scene and characters very well.
It must be the missing jewellery and now he has a huge ethical dilemma! I do like how each chapter so far has set a different angle to your book. Can't wait for the next.

Typo:"A loud gasp exploded from his mouth" not "gas".

    Hi Wendy,

Made a correction and dropped the 'P" on gasp.... glad it wasn't liquid or the story would have gotten stinky. LOL Just me being crazy this morning. Thanks for helping. I appreciate it.

You know how to set up a cliffhanger, that's for sure! The box is heavy, hmmm?

Guess it's all going to be revealed, so I can't hazard a guess.

I do know that bank employee was pretty nosy!

Check: "A loud gas exploded from his mouth." Could be...more likely a GASP though?

(wink)

    Hi sweet girl,

Seems everyone noticed or smelled the "P", lol. I dropped the 'P" on gasp.... glad it wasn't liquid or the story would have gotten stinky. LOL Just me being crazy this morning.

Love you girl. Tell me you are okay.

Wow! This is really getting exciting! I'm wondering if the stolen jewels are in this bank safe box??? I don't know how you dream up so many characters and keep them straight but the "Satan" name is hysterical since he seems to be such a nice guy. Poor lawyer is in a quandary - does he do his duty or does he tell the police?

A loud gas exploded from his mouth. (really a gas? not a gasp? )

    Hi Helen

Yes, Lance has found himself in the middle of a mess and it's just going to get worse. As for the "P"... thanks for letting me know. I hope it wasn't too smelly at your end, LOL

Oh, that's not fair! What's in the box that has filled Lance with trepidation? A lot of money? Diamonds? A severed head/hand/foot? Whatever is in there, it has shaken Lance a lot. Now we need to read more. Well done, again, Carol, fabulous plot! Love you lots. Sandra xxx

    Good day, Sandra

I always smile when I see your name appear. Even though you aren't here, it gives me a warm feeling, like a hug. Silly me, huh? I hope you think this story is as rewarding as the other ones. I know it is to me because of where I was the past few months. I was sad about all the deaths (5 in 6 months) but Penny and I spoke every single day at 6AM. It's how we started our day. It got me wondering if my number was next.... I didn't want to go out like I was... I had things to accomplish and writing is a big part of it.

I am smiling and pleased with my efforts. And I feel pleased by everyone's reactions to my return and the story. It's a good feeling.

Love you, girl friend. Smiles and hugs, CC

This is great! You stopped at the perfect point, leaving the reader suspended in mid-air. What's in the box? Is it an obnoxious sum of money, or a body part? Where should it be delivered. Rupert is already dead, so Lance can't ask questions or back out of the deal. This story is developing in true Carol style. Can't wait to see what happens.

Oh no, not fair, I want to know what's in the box! How could you leave me in suspense with no closure? There must be something more in the box than money. Great job!

I can't wait to see what's inside that box and how all of this fits into the previous posts. I know it'll all fit in.

The body spoke. "I'm not dead, Mr. Fenway. (comma after 'spoke')

"It's like playing that board game. Clue, I think. (comma needed after 'game')

Thank you, as always. The one with the board game, I questioned myself. In my mind, she was stating like a board game and then after a moments thought, she recalled the name Clue. Guess it doesn't matter. It wasn't that important. LOL I changed it.
