I do believe they are delighted. My, My, How did a public servant happen to be able to afford a porsche and a rolex? Oh that's right, the watch was a gift from his grandparents. Well he and Emmy will make a great team. It sounds like a great story brewing to me. Well done, Dear. Nancy:)

Hank was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but he earned all his accolades as a detective through hard work. He usually drives a Mercedes but since this is going back to the beginning, I had to bring him down a notch or tow. lol
Hope you enjoy and thank you for your kind thoughts,

Nice chapter! I like that you re-introduced the two detectives from the beginning of their relationship. There's just enough flirtatious dialogue without going overboard. Looking forward to the next chapter. It's good you are back! Blessings. Carol

I must admit I feel more emotional (heaven forbid) when I write so I tend to make my characters come alive. Please feel free to rein me in if I get carried away.

Characters coming alive are good. No reins needed. Lol.

This is another excellent chapter. Have you written about Hank Armato before? That name sounds familiar. I do not see any need for improvement. The picture does fit the story.

Hank and Emmy were married detectives and retired ones in all my other stories. This particular one I have made as the beginning where they met. I needed a fresh start and their love story seemed like a good place to go.

Well, I guess Hank and Emmy aren't likely to make it long without crossing that forbidden line of mixing business with pleasure. An even trade, a little of me, for a little bit of you. I think that's how it goes. LOL. Thanks for sharing a great way to start off my morning. :-)

Wow. I like the characters in the book. You are very good at making them attractive and fun. I can't wait to read the next chapter when Hank and Emmy finally work together and see whether it's true that they can work frictionless.
Well done.

I think this recovering me lets my emotions bubble over into my characters making them feel more alive in my mind. I hope you feel that as well. Thank you for your kindness.

Hank! Emmy! Now this is a delightful surprise! Oh boy, the frisson of attraction is crackling of the page... I'm going to be rubbing my hands together as these two team up. (Yes, to the cold case....too!)

As I write and rewrite, I've notice my emotions bubble over into my characters and they seem to be more alive to me. I hope you feel that as well. Love is in the air... some good and some maybe not so good.
Smiles and hugs, sweet girl.

Just so glad you are here and writing for all of us!

Yay! We get to learn how Emmy and Hank met each other and how they work on their first case together! So glad they both are experts in their fields. Now the problem is will their mutual attraction fog up their keen observations for the case?

I think Hank and Emmy are one of those couples that were meant to be from first glance. They are well-tuned to each other, and I like that. I hope you continue to enjoy their interactions.

This is a different genre from any of your previous writings. I'm not into detective or mystery stories myself, but your story is so skillfully executed that I became interested after the first paragraph. Nicely done. I look forward to the next chapter.

Thank you so much. I like to add more personal touches and emotions to my stories instead of just cops and robbers, not to say, I do "knock" people off but in a tasteful (lol) way and hopefully not blood and guts.

Ah good, I knew something like this would occur - but of course nothing will be plain sailing. I like how you are now coming at the jewellery heist from another angle, and soon this will link back to Elizabeth and Connor. I'm already looking forward to the next.

As you probably remember, I so love to add all the twists and turns to my stories. I doubt this one will be any different so hang on for a whirl wind ride and I hope you enjoy it.

I can see as well as Hank Amarto you have introduced some new protagonists into your stories, (it's always good when you have old, familiar characters, it's like a good hot, strong cup of coffee) this is a beautifully written post Carol, you haven't lost the old spark, writing is therapeutic, particularly to the writer, and this reader, beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy,

Thank you for your kind words and much-appreciated review. You are so right when you say writing is therapeutic. I even wear a smile now; something I couldn't even write when I went on hiatus. I hope those who have met Hank and Emmy in previous stories will enjoy their beginning. They are a well-oiled team from the very beginning. One of those meant to be love stories. Thank you for always being here. Smiles and hugs, CC
