Angry cloak

I think the use of all the repetitions in phrasing here really works well to underscore your theme of the stickiness of guilt and sin. It is hard for us to leave it behind. And the blood soaked cloak seems to speak of the pain there, as well as a hint maybe at the redeeming blood of Christ that can cleanse that pain and renew the heart. estory

Great job with your repeating lines. They all worked in very well. As you write, you shouldn't let the sun go down on your anger. The trouble with anger is that if people hold on to it, they can really explode and do and say things they'll be sorry for. Excellent AABB rhyme. I think you are saying that anger is a part of human nature, the angry cloak, but the important thing is how to deal with it. Excellent imagery with ships caught in storms. judi

I found this to be powerful and haunting words.
Carrying anger for long corrodes the soul. One becomes their anger and faith is lost.

Anger is a normal human emotion - but we are told not to sin with it, and to resolve issues and forgive those who hurt us. So we can with His help throw away the cloak of anger. An interesting and challenging poem, well written.

Feeling angry doesn't have to lead to sin; just don't let the day end with your anger still bubbling. Resolve your resentments, angers, clamours, and slanders. Thank you for sharing this great awareness. Have a great day.

A very deeply felt expression ,conveying the tug of conflicts within oneself .the form 'pantoum' is ideal for this theme and content .Yes time can never rescind. how nice it would be if it can!

One of the starkest realisations I had as a teenager was that anger was always followed by sadness. Recognising that connection helped me deal with stressful situations and let the anger of others slide off me, knowing it was usually masking something else. I love your casting of anger as a cloak - something than can envelop us, but also something that can be cast off.

Roy: As always you have shared another of your exceptional pieces of poetry entitled "Angry Cloak". You have chosen a very interesting piece of art that compliments your entry. Your biblical references truly reflect your thoughts and comments. When reading I appreciate the message shared relating to anger. I did not know what a "Pantoum Poem" was until now. Thus I have been educated as to another form of poetry and from where it originated. Congratulations and all the best to you as you continue to share through your writing. I like the fact that through out you expressed by the use of the word "sometimes" that the "Angry Cloak" is (or should be) temporary!
