I'm only 903921 chapters behind but this read beautifully! Even with the large gap in the tale, I was able to piece together the events.
Good for Margot! She's spunky. I like her quite a lot. :)
Blessings, sweet friend, and thank you for the read.

This was an exceptional chapter, Sandra. You gave readers many
pertinent facts, the setting was described well, and the progression
of events was at a good pace. Miles' character was developed deeper
with his actions at the ball and with the results of his father's in-
terference and making a spectacle of himself. I like how you readers
learn about the speech Margot made while Miles was outside dealing
with his father. What she said was believable. Margot showed more of
her character when she asked about Miles's father after the altercation.
I liked what Margot and Bessie discussed in the library, and how they
decided to use the letter. The way Gwen showed up acting like she was
so bereaved over Richard's death showed more of her hate and
conniving ways. Yes, she is putting on an act hoping to turn attention
away for her evil doings--she probably had a meal for him with her
special spice. Her actions when she told of his death showed her cold heart and how she would let nothing stop her from anything--even
murder. However, someone in attendance at the ball may also figure
in, or even from the bar from the last chapter. Margot has to be on
her guard even more so now, but with Bessie there, she should be
ok. I like the expanded character info you added in the notes.
[I know crikey is a term used in UK.
Was it around during this time?]
Looking forward to the next chapter, Jan

You're always so thorough with your reviews, Jan, and I really appreciate it a lot. Thank you so very much for this one, and the lovely golden star! I'm particularly pleased that you think the way I wrote about the speech Margot made was believable, that really did make my day.
The term 'Crikey!' Don't forget it was Margot speaking to Bessie, and she is from our time, so she would use it, but she'd better watch it when playing the part of Meg when she is in company!! That really would raise some eyebrows! Lol. I'm glad you mentioned it, though, because I might just have forgotten. Thank you, dear friend, I really appreciate this lovely review. Love and hugs, Sandra xx 🤗😊

Indeed, a mother fortune peach:)"
'Lady Gwendolyn? This is an unexpected surprise. Please, sit, I'll call for refreshments.'

'There will be no need for that, thank you, Margaret. I've come here myself because I believe it's the decent thing to do. I'm sorry to have to inform you, but your brother died suddenly. Obviously, because you were estranged, you weren't mentioned in his will.' She looked around the room. 'But it seems you've been kept quite comfortable here. I won't delay you any longer. You will receive a message regarding the funeral in due time.' With that, she turned on her heel and walked out the room." Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

Hi Carol, were your ears burning last week? I was talking about you to my hubby, saying I wished you'd start your writing again. You mustn't let it go, my dear friend. You've got too much talent to waste it. I know you have a lot on your mind, but it could help to write something. Even something silly! It would take your mind off things for a short while.

Thank you so much for coming and reading my latest chapter, I'm so happy that you enjoyed it. You're my dear friend, and I miss you. Sending hugs and loads of love back. Stay strong. I'm always with you. 🥰🤗💞xxxx

Margot and Bessie make a formidable pair! You're still keeping us on tenterhooks about who committed the crime but I suspect it won't be long now before the truth comes out. This has been a fascinating time-travel whodunnit. Another great chapter!

Why is Gwendolyn being so awful to Meg? Gwendolyn wouldn't have any reason to want Meg dead, would she? Richard was awful to her, and I can't blame her for wanting to get rid of him, but what did Meg do to her?

Gwendolyn has been treated terribly by her family and Meg's brother. It has made her a bitter lady. More will be revealed later. Thank you so much, Cindy, for reading this part, and for getting involved with my characters!! Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

What a fantastic continuation chapter, Sandra. Just a tad more excitement from Margot and Bessie. Both have decided that Lord Brandon and Mr Crankston-Smythe will definitely have to pay the price to have defiled the both of them, Meg and Miles. Someone has to answer for it. Blessings, hug n smiles.

This is really gripping. Margot did herself proud when as Meg she told the guests that she was responsible for Lord Brandon's behavior and not to take it out on Miles. The party went on as usual, while Miles took care of seeing his drunken lout of a father got home. Margot is going to have to be extremely careful, as she is now a target. They know Meg died from falling off her horse, and that the saddle girth straps. I'm eager to see Margot and Bessie's plan. Can they really change what happened? judi

That is the question that is now on their minds. They just might have changed history and they have no way of knowing. Thank you so much, Judi, for this lovely review and the golden star. The next few chapters will be very intense. Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx
