Wendy, this is a great entry for the Witty Epitath contest. I believe someone had an article on here recently about becoming compost as a choice after death, so I presume that this is where you got the idea. Great thinking.

Thank you Anne. No, I don?t remember reading anything about compost, I just think it?s a good idea. I had a bit of fun here. I?ll get a new body and I?ll be with the Lord so I?m happy for this body to be useful for something. Thanks so much for reviewing. I appreciate it.

You are welcome, Wendy.

This poem reminds me of my mother. She is a scientist and wants to go back into the ecosystem. It's a witty epitaph indeed. Thanks for sharing this here.

Thanks so much for reviewing. Going back to earth/ compost makes good sense to me. I won?t need this old body later on. Lol.

Lol! A little macabre but I get what you're saying. And rest in Him is what we can even start practicing now. "Though worms ...yet in my flesh shall I see God." Fun epitaph. Best wishes in the contest!

Yes, a very appropriate verse to accompany my poem. I won?t need this body later anyway? let it become good compost. That?s the sort of thing Bec doesn?t like me to say. Lol. Thanks for reviewing. Always appreciated.

I like the idea of being composted and giving nutrients to trees and plants. My neighbor did that kind of burial. My kids aren't gardeners so it would be a waste. Lol.

I'm happy to be in a public park. My kids mightn't like me underfoot! Lol.

Heh heh, I think this is something that someone would write to someone who wasn't well thought while living, but a great entry in this contest Wendy, so good luck, my friend, great job, blessings Roy

Hi Roy. Thank you. I was actually thinking of my own (tired) self. Had a bit of fun. I?ll really be elsewhere of course?..
Thanks for reviewing.

haha... great title! That's why I prefer to be cremated.
We all aspire to being special in someone's eyes, and growing a tree is a worthy endeavour, so this person can feel satisfied they made a contribution.
I hope their family was rich, because that wording would come at a price!

Hi Wendy, this is a great entry for the contest. Indeed, once we're six foot under we become great fodder for whatever creature is there, but we also become a fertilizer for new growth. Good luck. Ulla:)))

That's a good one, Wendy.
I thought of a burial in my back yard,
But I'll choose cremation instead.
On my dear old family, I won't make it hard.
Put me in an urn when I'm dead.

Wendy! What a callous fare thee well. It's worthy of Alexander Pope. Reminds me of a most politically incorrect children's story which my granddaughters adore featuring a family of worms. The child worm goes off on a rant when he finds a hair in his breakfast dirt. I leave the rest to your imagination.
Good luck in the contest.
Stay safe and blessed

Lol! Made me laugh so much!! it?s my black sense of humour - my daughter doesn?t like it at all!
The good thing is- the real "me" will be happy elsewhere, and I?ll be getting a new and improved body too! Thanks so much for reviewing.

Oh my! This is not the special I'd ever hoped to be! What a revolting thought! Which just goes to show- you can make a poem out of anything.
At least, it made me smile.

Made me laugh while I was writing it. My daughter hates my dark "death" humour. But the real "me" will be elsewhere and I?ll be getting a new body as well, so I"ll be happy. Thanks for reviewing - greatly appreciated.
