Okay, this looks good enough to eat. The contest calls for only three sentences and you have delivered three with the needed three buzz words.
I wish you good luck in the contest.

Good job in micro writing.

What a great entry! And very interesting and informative notes as well. It meets all requirements and is different and imaginative, so I am sure it will do well. Best wishes.

It might just be a bit too different. One reviewer has already queried how a story about food can be spiritual.

So, you are thanking God for angel food cake is that right? Don't you think this is pushing spiritual fiction a bit far? You might as well thank him for everything you eat and drink and consume on a daily basis. And if you do, why didn't you write about that instead of angel food cake? Since this is called spiritual fiction do you not believe this is so? I am a little confused as what spiritual fiction means. Would you clarify this for me?
Sorry for all the questions I am just curious that is all. Thanks for sharing your fictionalized beliefs.
Jesse

The prompt asked for a 21-word story to include the words Angel, Heaven and God, which was a rather limiting brief with the potential for most entries to be fairly predictable, so I opted for something completely different... being grateful for fine food and the fellowship of a Sunday School picnic... while also linking the story through the notes to the relevance of that particular style of cake to a couple of Christian religious groups and what is important to them: funerals and weddings.

Oh. Okay, just asked that's all.

No harm in asking... I'm happy to explain why I write things.

    That is good to know...thanks!

You're so clever! I like your refreshing take on the challenge using all those required words but showing us that we can write about the joy of enjoying home baked cake! I didn't know all the background on the Angel Food cake that you included in your notes! Best wishes in the contest!

In such a short write I felt I needed to come at it from a different perspective. I've never tasted that cake myself, but now I am tempted to try and bake one.

I don't mind it but it's not my favorite. I can taste the "cream of tartar" which I don't care for. But it's always welcome with berries. It's summer there so enjoy!
