I loved your poem royowen.
How very true it was.
I especially liked the beginning - We view our hist'ry through a lens, that sees through other's eyes and pens. Our reality isn't just how we see our history, but often how others see it.
I also loved the ending - we seek the truth, but also don't want to see it.
Wonderful.

What an excellent job on crafting such a meaningful poem, Roy. WOnderful work, my friend. My favorite stanza:
Truth cannot change, it never bends.
Perfect, just, yet mercy spends.
Men seek its face, but shield their eyes,
'cause truth exposes sin and lies.
Such wisdom.

Hello Roy,
Yes, truth is elusive, one man's truth is another man's lie.
Nature long ago learned to bend, not stand rigid against a wind.
Perhaps truth also bends.
An excellent philosophical poem with very good rhymes and meter.
Best wishes to you and family.

Roy,
This aabb group of quatrains makes us think about how we can find and follow true truth. It seems more lie than tell the truth. But, there have to be some who know and tell the truth, so it can be spread and make positive change in the world.
Keep writing and stay healthy

Truth is a precious thing at all times. It is a shame that too many politicians do not cherish it. Your poem is exceptionally written and presented, Roy. Sorry I do not have a six left. Your referenced Scriptures are a perfect reminder of what should be filling our hearts. :-)

Hi Sir this is the most beautiful piece of writing I read for a while. I always wonder whether what the tell in the history books or even what the politicians say is the truth. Truth has been here long before this miserable world came to be. It was beautiful and beyond compare then, but look what it has become today. F we want to know the truth, we need then to go back to those days when those events occurred and when the universe was made.
Truth is eternal, unchanging and unchangeable.
God bless. Absolutely well done. Deserves the six.

This poem, History, sends us back to question what we have been told and taught about our place in the world. History is written to please the reader and preserve or create a golden era to reference for future decision-making.

Roy, regardless of this one, minor suggestion, I love this beautifully penned poem. (I intend to rate it as I think it deserves!)
The last stanza, L2 - my tongue trips. That's all I need to say to a bard as talented as you, sir... *smile*

This poem is so clever and exepertly written. The flow is perfect and the message delivered through relatable, true language that takes the reader on an important journey of truth and what it means. This was brilliant.
