Yes, I can understand why you felt uncomfortable about the business in the jury duty. I thought that the judge usually guides the jury in the finer points of the law. Remembering at least, in British justice, at least, the onus is up to the prosecution to prove the defendant(s) guilty beyond all reasonable doubt, which is the same as ours. But I can understand why you were coerced into doing that, also why you wouldn't want to do it, our once lead pastor was a barrister, (a step up lawyer) beautifully written Beth, blessings Roy

Thank you, Roy. I was a difficult time in my life and I wasn't happy but I'd already help things up an extra week and they weren't going to change their mind. I wasn't a 100% sure the two students were telling the truth.

The hardest part of being on a jury, is wanting the right outcome, and only being one spoke in the wheel. I hope it all worked out right for the crimes that were committed. But, there were plenty of others who completed the decision. Thanks for sharing.

Thank Ric, I guess the majority usually rules. I can be the lone hold-out just so long and I start to doubt my own judgement. I appreciate your review and comments.

I do understand your poem. I am not sure juries always make the best decisions. I enjoy your memoirs and can't wait to see what happens next.
That night, I went over my notes and decided to speak up the next day. (speak up the following day)

Thank you Barbara. Being on a jury wasn't as much fun as I had hoped. Actually it was a nightmare. I did put following in several place but I see I missed one.

I have always feared that if on a jury I too would be the one with doubts and unanswered questions. I think it's a very difficult situation to be in especially when you have other responsibilities on your plate as well. You did your best and that's all that matters.
Hugs, Carol

Thank you Carol. I always thought it was something I wanted to do but it became a nightmare for me. I never want to do that get. I guess I the odd one that sees things differently from others.
