Lordy mercy. That sounds horrible beyond belief. The whole saga is such a nightmare. I will definitely include you and your family in my prayers.
Maybe your post will remind people that we are far from out of the woods.

I appreciate your heartfelt prayers. Fingers crossed as to Lauren's recovery. She's been sleeping all day--I don't want to wake her--I'm surprised the dog hasn't by now! Hope I dodge the bullet--too soon to tell.

Thanks for your continued concern. She's feeling continually worse, as is often the case. Sucks for her, but good news for me--you are one of the first to know--I tested negative and am cleared to go on per usual, no restrictions, other than I steer clear of her.

That?s what you call good news/bad news. I hope you can stay clear. Still praying for both of you

Prayers for Lauren, her friend Kristen and for you as well Elizabeth, the dastardly corona virus seems to attack at random-the well, the immune suppressed, the old age. Will it never end? Good luck to Lauren that she may beat both of these.

OMG! That's not good news at all considering your daughter's medical condition. But thankfully there is the wonderful cure of covid and there is no reason for panic. The curse of the COVID-19 pandemic has led to a dramatic loss of human life worldwide and presents an unprecedented challenge to public health, food systems and the world of work. We cannot take anything for granted and what Kristen did is unacceptable. I wish Karen a speedy recovery.

Kristen didn't flout protocol by going to the event--she was duly vaccinated.

Damn virus! Of course, attending a crowded Halloween party with a compromised immune system and no vaccination is kind of like asking for it. An infect me if you can taunt. I hope Laurin's is a mild case and she's good as new in a few days!!! I'm excited to learn about her MS treatments and hope they work a miracle!

Please accept my most sincere sorrow at hearing this. It is so easy to get this plague, and once exposed you are in jeopardy. Everyone should get vaccinated - everyone. I got my two shots and will get the booster. With my laundry list of maladies, I did not suffer from the shots and hopefully will avoid that problem. You wrote in your usual frank manner and this is a well-done presentation.

Oh Liz, I am so sorry to read about your and Lauren's Corona battle. You are right when you say worse possible timing. I know it must be very difficult for her and you and on so many different levels. Keep warm and safe.

Make two large mugs of hot chocolate!

Well written and sad piece.

Oh Liz! So sorry to hear this! Please offer very best to Lauren! I hope her symptoms are mild and she improves quickly! My nephew, his wife and their twelve year old daughter all had it.... nasty fly like symptoms for four or five days and then it abated. I hate that question! We answer no...but unless we live in a vacuum how do we really know if we've been in contact with an infected person? I so want this to be over. Take good care of her...and of yourself! I hope Kristen fares well also!

you! She feels lousy and has a slight fever, but no breathing problems, thankfully. I'll take the test Tuesday morning to preclude a false negative during the incubation period. I'm assuming that since her friend was vaccinated, she got Delta Corona, for which the vaccine is not fully protective, and which is far more contagious. It has an average incubation period of three days--so if I test negative at the 5 day mark from when she tested positive (Thursday) I'm probably safe--provided I steer clear of her in the interim--not hard to do in our large house--she will be considered no longer contagious as of Sunday the 14th (ten days post test) provided she no longer has fever. Meantime, I'm lying low--going out for solo walks--which is what I do anyway. Given I've been vaccinated, I am not required to quarantine, just wear a mask indoors--which is moot, since I avoid places that make us wear masks; nevertheless, given I volunteer amongst lots of people, even though outdoors, they don't want me around. I got the OK to return Tuesday if I test negative. Fingers crossed.

OMG. I bet you shed tears while writing this. A good reminder not to let our guard down! A well-paced write with the three questions followed by Lauren's unintentional incorrect answer.

This work has reached the exceptional level

Dear Elizabeth,

Have no fear. The PCR test is a sham and just because Lauren has a sore throat it does not mean she has Covid. Most tests are false positives and I applaud her not taking an experimental injection with her condition. Smart gal.

I'm not a health professional, but you can never go wrong with vitamin C. A sore throat has never been deadly in the past. Quercitin, zinc, vita d3, pine needle tea and no fear is the best remedy.

God bless,

AnnaLina
