This is another well-written chapter, Carol. I'm still intrigued with Samantha and what she's up to, whether she seeking revenge or helping the investigators. You paint vivid scenes and great dialogue.

Oh my goodness, everyone is deceiving everyone else! Plans for vengeance, traps, secret passages, this chapter has it all. Your characters are well-drawn, and the plot very compelling.

I love the way you work in snippets of backstory. The scar, young Sam and her now deceased sister, as well as young Sam and Marian roaming secret passages in the garden. The thing that makes this story so compelling is all the moving parts that twist and turn. I'm really enjoying your creativity.

Wow! There's so much deception going on here. And so many people seem to be living on the edge of danger. The secret passages are a great idea, allowing Marian access to the gardens unseen. She plays the dementia role very well. Great chapter!

I think these two girls are a lot of fun, and they are going to get their own back on Vito. They know how to do that, and have now caught him in his own web. The dialogue is smooth, and even though I just read this one chapter, it is easy to follow and pick up the story. I see you do a lot of writing and reviewing. Thank you so much for stopping to read and enjoy this chapter of my story. It really means a lot to me, when new friends, say they love my style, the characters, and it's easy to follow. My life is in the eye of a hurricane right now and I find writing and reading in the middle of the night is calming and helps me to face another day. In the daytime, I have become the sole guardian of five grandchildren age six to fourteen.... going to four different schools. Oh so much fun! LOL I love them to death but my life definitely has changed.
