Trick or Treat
Interesting entry for the OCT WK 3 - 300 words or less contest. It has a sweet ending. Last year we skipped Halloween trick or treat but this year we plan to take my grandson.

What a fun Halloween night. Going out and seeing ghosts and goblins and even an elf. The handicapped child got two bags of candies on his bed.
Well done.

I stopped celebrating Halloween too many years ago to remember when. None the less, this wonderful story of compassionate sharing is so heart warming that even the biggest scrooge may be convinced to smile. I am sitting here right now smiling at the thought.

A beautifully penned story about celebrating Halloween time as kids. In India, Halloween is unknown. But having been exposed to the American culture, I am able to appreciate the many nuances in the celebrations. Good luck in the contest!

Thanks, Seshadri. No Halloween in India? Probably less tooth decay.

Your poem is excellent in every respect--skillfully written--with good flow, meter, and rhyme--and vividly descriptive of Halloween fun. I especially like the surprise at the end. What a smart, resourceful little boy.

This is a very clever story and a great way to get candy. You have told this story very well and all I could think of is....how excited I am for Halloween. Best of luck in the contest. :)

such a cute poem for Halloween. Halloween brings much delight to manyb boys and girls. We live in a neighborhood where we don't get many trick or treaters. Just our own family.

This is a lovely poem for the youngest of trick and treaters, which will be certain to reassure them in their fear and inspire their day (or evening).

I have fond memories of those trick-or-treat nights. This line sums up your poem perfectly. I, too, have fond memories. Today's children are missing so much because society has really messed up. Thank you fir sharing this contest entry with us and good luck.
