You have done what I intend to do. After reading a few of the tributes my curiosity has been aroused and I will peruse the portfolio. Thanks for
giving me more incentive to do so.

I need to go over and reads some of this poem. I am not familiar with this Fanstorian. From the tributes I've read, it is definitely my loss. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Just from some of the excerpts people have posted of August's work, I'm sorry that I didn't know him or have a chance to read them. But I intend to. Is August his FanStory name? Thanks for sharing.

Aw, thank you for this prose contribution for August. He really is a fine poet. I say 'is' on purpose in keeping with the 'eternal' theme. My pastor stays eternal life starts now in the heart of belief. I think that's correctly interpreted. A sweet tribute, dear Liz.
Blessings always,

I read the last poem that his daughter put there after his death. Maybe Ineed to go back and read more. I wonder if you are the one who made it possible for the portfolio to remain. It would not surprise me.

It is awesome that so many have become a fan of his writings after his untimely death and have stepped up to offer praise and tributes (yours included). He will be remembered with much respect for who he was.

The death of a friend is a tragic time. Camaraderie is one of the most important things we have in life. The love and support we get from our friends are invaluable. This is a wonderful tribute to a departed fellow FAnStorian. My heartfelt condolences go out to the fanily.

Thanks for the shoutout, Liz. What an honor--to be compared to August and for one of our finest authors to include me in her post. Hope all is well with you. I am always amazed at how you take ordinary life events and weave them into beautiful and so often lol funny stories.

Wonderful news! I had correspondence with Amber when she wrote me, thanking me for my tribute poem. We discussed the Eternal Flame feature and she indicated she would love that...but surely did not have the finances to pay for it. I certainly didn't...but August must be smiling down, knowing that thanks to one wonderful benefactor his work will be forever perserved...and Amber will be able if she so desires, to download all of his work...
I have immense gratitude and respect for the person who came forward to invest nearly $300.00 on such a selfless act! His Eternal Flame burns bright tonight! I encourage anyone who has not done so to sample his work. The anonymous donor ought to be taking a bow!

Someone did a beautiful thing to perpetuate August's legacy here. I, too, must confess I haven't read that much of his poetry. Like many, I didn't know he died until the tributes started pouring in. The first I read was by Roy Owens, then Lyenochka, and finally Robyn Corum. I'm sure his family will be honored and humbled by whoever's generosity paid for the eternal flame.

I'm sure they'll be happy--they couldn't afford it.
