I have the same problem with my husband as Christie. He is never on time for anything. I hate being late. If I'm not at least 20 minutes early then I'm late. We go to church in separate cars because I feel it's rude to be late. He sees it as no problem. Things never start on time anyway.
Once again, I enjoyed reading. I think all families have a few issues.
When the plant supervisor informed me that the method we were using for stripping negatives was becoming obsolete, (omit 'that')
I was a bit irritated that the troublemaker I had been training had gotten her way (again 'that')
It was a hard not to feel a bit of gratification, but I was glad that none of that was a problem that concerned me. (Omit the first 'that', the other two are good.)

Thank you for the review and comments Barbara. It seems people then to marry opposites. My dad was always irriatated waiting on my mother. I had a problem to some extent with my husband being late. Like you, I wated to be twenty minutes early. I took the thats out as you suggested. I may get them out of my writing but how do we get them from our speach. Everyone uses them constantly. Maybe you don't, but most people I know do.

I can almost see that big grin on your face when you met up again with your ex assistant plant supervisor and learnt about him and the troublemaker losing their jobs! LOL. Well things seemed to be working out for Carol once she had her own place. Sometimes that's what we all need, a bit of time to work things through on our own. This was another really interesting chapter in your life, Beth. Warm hugs. Sandra xxx

Thank you so much for the review and comments. Yes I did have a big grin that I tried to hide when I saw the man from my work. I also had a laugh about Glen getting in trouble at the divorce hearing. Carol didn't find it funny at all.

I would have laughed at Glen, too. Your daughter is funny, though. I would have laughed my socks off had I been her!! xxx

Things seem to be becoming to a head, with family life over for Carol and Glen, and the others coping with life in grown up lane. Life seems to have been a little easier in our day, a more simple philosophy in general. And your working life has come to an end. Beautifully written Beth, blessings Roy

Hi Beth, so life went on in your family at a pace. There was one thing I didn't understand. Why would Glen walk around with so many weapons? No wonder he got into trouble. I know the gun laws are different in the US, but it still baffles me that almost anyone can buy and carry. Here in Europe it's mainly criminals and hunters who have guns.
Sorry I didn't mean to offend.
As you know, I'm enjoying this
I smiled when I read about Ron. Poor him, it does hurt when the stones have to pass.
Looking forward to what's next. Ulla:)))

Thank you Ulla, You certainly don't offend me. I hate the gun laws in this country. They have been on the books forever and young men seem to thing the more weapons they have the cooler they are. Guns, knives, and ammunition were one of Glens hobbies. My family always had guns for hunting and protection when I was born but I never liked them. I really appreciate you contiuning to read and enjoy my story.

A snippet of your past life and the different characters that you recall and how some people can't be helped as their personality traits will always haunt them. I enjoyed the journey here, love Dolly x

So glad that you were done with that job. You had enough stress from family, worrying about your parents and children. I am glad that Carol taught you more about computers way back then!
Comments:
but It wouldn't have been so bad, (it)
training in commuter plate preparations. (computer?)

I can't get enough of this story! Is this book already written, or do you write these chapters weekly? Masterful work!
Both [OMIT COMMA] Mom and Dad [OMIT COMMA] had heart problems, [even though=>AND] they were reluctant to see a doctor.
Christi was a person [OMIT COMMA] who had little respect for the privacy of her family, or for time in general.
Still [COMMA] over the years nothing changed.
She was more than willing to go for the training in commuter=>COMPUTER plate preparations.
I was a bit irritated that the troublemaker [COMMA] I had been training had gotten her way, but otherwise I didn't regret saying goodbye to the printing company.

Hello Beth Shelby your Ending and Beginnings true story is well told where I can understand what you are telling us. Let me tell you the part that drew my interest is when you were at he age to retire
The problem was your job offered no retirement plan. It wasn't as though we needed the money, because we were debt free, and you were drawing Social Security. We both had money invested in IRAs and CDs. I figured a part time job that didn't involve overtime might be easier to tolerate. I didn't see if you got a part time Job? Or I missed rat part in your true story
