This is part of a cool Western adventure, where a hardy frontier woman bares her teeth and sticks to her guns, as it were. It is clear that there are intrigue and lies simmering just below the surface. Good story.

Oh no! They were so close in catching Smythe in whatever dirty dealings he was doing but missed it. I am hoping that Roseanna will be able to find things out. Great dialogue here and it shows their personalities well.

Ain't no use arguing with a woman, Earl. They are always right. :) Doo has met his match. You got a good western story going on here. I hope the Indians don't take some scalps. I hope you're doing good with the weather and world the way it's been going. Don't know what will happen tomorrow, but what will be, will be. Thank you for sharing.

Good story and well-written dialogue. Rosanne and Do are interesting characters and she's unusually independent. Somehow I just don't think Smythe would say "Oh goody . . . " Darn or dang are more likely.

Smythe is a prissy dandy and in my mind he would say goody. Thank you for reading and reviewing my book.

Aw, you really have a prissy dude? Well, that's one way to make the bad guy easy to hate.

I always enjoy reading this story. These characters are all interesting as well as the plot. I enjoyed the dialogue when they argue among themselves. Roseanne is a very spunky laty.

Good to see the bulls go hammer and tongs, although one of the bulls is a cunningly bad bull, and is very manipulative, but I think the others will twig eventually, but Smythe has got Roseanne fooled at this stage. Beautifully written Earl, well done, blessings Roy

It's really hard to out maneuver a determined woman. She will have her way or know the reason why. LOL Roseanna is determined and it looks as though she won the argument. Well done, Earl. Nancy:)

Dear Earl, I am glad to see that you have posted your next chapter with my favorite pioneer people. ( with the exception of Godfrey Smythe of course )
If you don't mind me saying so, all you have to do is challenge a man's ego, and he's bound to get into trouble. By sending Carter and his friends ahead as scouts, it's not hard to tell who is going to run into the Shawnee first.

This was an absolutely great continuation chapter, Earl. I really enjoyed the bantering between Roseanna, Carter and Smythe. It is easy to see that she is playing the both of them but especially Carter. Great job, blessings.

I love this. The dialogue and dialect within it created a colorful conversation, both realistic and moving the story along. are you from Pittsburgh? I was so interested in the details here because I live on raccoon Creek. In fact, yesterday I wrote a poem about a 300 year old maple tree, and in my poem mentioned the Shawnee Indians that likely stood under its beautiful canopy. We attend raccoon church. with a three day trip to get to raccoon Creek, I'm just wondering exactly where these people are right now. Anyway, it was a good story. Well written and interesting. Thank you for sharing. Hugs.

I'm from north of Pittsburgh, Believe it or not I made up Raccoon Creek, but I googled and found there is one in Ohio that feeds into the Ohio River, that's where they're at right now. I'd like to read your poem, what is the title? I appreciate you taking the time to read and review my book.

I haven't posted my poem yet. I'm entering it for the rhyming poem contest, I think. Not sure yet.
It's just crazy to me how the world works. I wrote a poem and said something about shawnee Indians, and then I read your story. There are other poems and stories on here that are closely connected to mine too. I always think to myself? These people are going to think I copied them. Ha ha the town/village I live in is called candor, and I don't think it's on the map. Raccoon Church is in candor. My brother, sister, cousins, and I played in raccoon Creek when we were growing up. Where we live, it's more like a stream. It's just so cool.
