Judy love the conversation, I must admit when I die, I'm not really going to care how my hair is or what clothes they bury me in, am I? I love this dialogue only entry dear Beth, rather brilliant I think, good luck, blessings Roy

Thank you so much for the review and the comments. It won't matter to me either but some people find it something that occupies their mind. I hope you got a good laugh from this. I have to admit that Caroline is modeled after a real person I know.

I really enjoyed this hilarious dialogue only story that reminded me of my elderly aunt. I especially liked the way you distinguished the speakers by using bold and regular print. Your use of grammar made the characters seem more familiar, like people we know. This is a well written story.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. The character of Caroline is that of a real person who calls me regularly. She actually said some of the things I wrote. She would be quite capable of saying all of it. LOL

God, Spare me from ever getting that persnickery. LOL
Cremation is the best way, no worries and a whole lot cheaper. This was a hoot, Beth. Well done. Nancy:)

Beth, this really isn't a funny subject but I can't help laughing. Could it possibly be a true story? I can't imagine what I would do if some cousin phoned me wanting to plan their funeral. It is a good entry for this contest. Good luck!

Thank you Ralf, It is based on a real cousin and half of the stuff on there she has actually said. The only thing that is true about the funeral is that I'm to make sure her daughter knows she wants to be sent back to Mississippi and buried our grandmother.

Cousin Caroline is a hoot!
I love her moxie. She's likes things her way. Frankly, having lived 95 years onward, she deserves it!
Truly enjoyed reading this humorous fiction dialogue.
Thanks Beth.

This was funny especially where Caroline talks as if she will be aware of her surroundings when she is dead. I would not suggest any grammar changes because this is the way your characters talk.
Good luck in the contest.

Mary

Thank you so much for the review and I glad you liked it. There is a chat with my late husband that you missed. It is still paying. Called How do we go about this move?

This is very funny. Caroline is considering her funeral and burial as if she's going to be a living, breathing person, able to feel temperature, have allergic reactions and interact with those around her, post mortem. I hope this was purely imaginary and not based on an real conversation with an actual relative, because I don't think I would have been able to keep it together.

Here are some suggested revisions:

I'm 95-years-old....I've been going down hill for twenty years.

Thank you so much for the review and comments and help. Caroline is based on a true cousin. Some of that stuff she has actually said.
You haven't read the last chapter to my book "How Do You Go About This Move."

You're very welcome, dear Beth. Your cousin "Caroline" sounds like quite a character! The story must have popped up somehow, and I read it before your most recent book chapter, which I don't want to miss. Thank you for letting me know :-)
    Love, Mary Kay xoxo

With all due respect, hahaha. I enjoyed your contest entry, Beth. This sounds so real. You did a great job with the dialogue. Also, I could picture both women as they talked. You have their characteristics down pat.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes.
Respectfully, Jan

Well the reason it sounds real is because they are real. I took some liberties with some of the conversation. LOL

Hilarious! This conversation has the "ring" of truth--hope not. I never cite grammar errors in dialog--hopefully no one will ding you for the speakers' mistakes!

I'm glad you liked. Names changed but the lady's my cousin and some the conversation is real.

I can't recall what you told me back when-- what are the titles of your two stories pertaining to your hurricane miracle?
reply by the author on 01-Feb-2021
I didn't too creative with the names. Tornado, Too Hot for February, and The Storm.
