Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

I love the first three installments of your book. I longed to be a teacher but I was talked out of it by my counselor. It was 1976 and there weren't very many teaching jobs at that time. Flash forward to 2005 and my daughter starts as a first year freshman English teacher. I look forward to reading your experiences.

R,

Good for you! Far too many teachers would throw up their hands, I'm afraid. One or two or five students who were challenged -- maybe. But 22? Nope.

This was told in a great way and I enjoyed!

You expressed your thoughts/feelings well. I enjoyed reading about your first year of teaching. Those students needed you as much as you needed them. In the end, both were able, hopefully, to find common ground. I have dealt with students such as those of which you write.

It did not take me a month, however, to realize the bulk of my class [was] were the victims of social promotion.

Respectfully, Jan
