Thank you for a great review. You must be getting notices now because you seem to find my stories. Thank for catching the spags.

Captivating! So rich in detail. (Some graphic!)
circles and slits [splits] in the air
we left the kids in Newton [to] visit with my parents
The following morning, our students left [going=>to go] back to college.
in a freezing wind. [omit: ) after period]
The kids hadn't been back in school long [omit comma] before we got a call from Don.
there was [were] a lot of things left out
the fantastic car which [that] he found was
I felt maybe [we] deserved some of the blame
I have a feeling [omit comma] that this agreement was arranged
The car would bring about more problems [omit comma] during the following semester.

Thank you so much Elizabeth. You are a fantastic editor and comma police. I don't know why I keep throwing those commas in at random.
I'll see if I've already nominated you or not.

I love you are doing this for your kids. It is an amazing gift. I would work on some grammar stuff like "Newton visit" Maybe missing "to"? "Y`all won't believe this deal, I've found." ... you started quotes but did not continue them.

Thank you Gert, I'm so pleased you are enjoying my story. Boys can come up with some interesting problems that usually we have to bail them out of.

I know it is not funny, but I am laughing over the car purchase. It is a memorable moment and I am sure your son has learned much about purchasing cars that do not run. Your family tales still hold my interest, excellent writing.

Thank you for the review. After a few years passed, we could laugh about it. Kids have to lhe hard way but unfortunately they provide some learning lessons for their parents, too.

That Firebird! Ha ha
Noticed two typos:
One (On) the second day of 1982, we planned to leave Newton and to go back to New Orleans.
No more was said about the car for many, many months. If Don was having buyer's remorse, he didn't dare mention it. I'm thinking the anxiety over the deal, along with Don's hyperactive nature, and also the fact that he'd never really learned how to sturdy, (study)
