This free verse, Light from Many Sources, transitions the viewers perception of the cosmos' light show to the mechanical replacements which bring the light to us.

Hello JLR, this is well written and you met the club challenge well. You have included the various sources of light that guide our paths. How often do we enjoy those in the sky, when bright city lights dim the view. I enjoyed your thoughtful poem. Regards Dorothy x

It sounds as if the speaker in this poem has spent many a night watching light come and go. Favorite lines: backdrop of starlight
while the new day's rays of daylight
cover over the last of near phosphorescence
of the moonlight glow.
I think I might add a hyphen between 'near' and 'phosphorescence' to show that the phosphorescence is nearly complete and not just close by.

Congratulations on your well - written work being recognized and also being named one of the all time best. This is a beautiful piece depicting the dawning of the day. I have been writing chapters for a book and have also been describing the coming of the day.

I really liked the middle and ending. Great imagery and not over done with adjectives, as first thought it might be. Good alliteration in parts.
This is on borders of a six, only we have too few, but know this is worth.
My best wishes.

Makes me wonder how street lights react in Alaska with six months of daylight. I bet the Norther Lights gives a problem. I enjoyed your poem. Thanks for sharing.

Ben I am certain you are so correct, I have been in Alaska in the never ending twilight and it is eerie,

What an excellent addition to the club posts, JLR! I could see the image you were verbally painting. And then...one source of light traded for another in the blink of an eye. I love that part of the morning. :)
Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed.
Blessings,
Deb

Until you experience of the brilliance of day breaking, slowly revealing the wonders of the natural world. The dimming if artificial light, replaced by the light of day. The chirping of the birds as they awaken and seek the insects that they capture to feed either themselves or their offspring. That is a perfect time to give thanks for the breath of life and all the blessings that come with it.
