Another delightful poem, Brooke. I do like how you take a creature who sometimes scare little kids, and you make it seem like a friend and Paul and can be fun instead of scary.
Smiles,
Karyn : )

Green and purple, is it Barney? Yes, you're right, Sawyer's expression is priceless, worth a poem by Grandma... So entertaining. To think that the creature is human after all... :)

Belinda, thank you so much. I definitely did not have Barney in mind. I'm not a huge fan of Barney. LOL Brooke :-)

It's just a bubble, nothing more --
just blow another three or four."
And that is how we came to be,
the best of friends you'll ever see.
Awesome quatrains Brooke and a beautiful story. This little boy Sawyer doesn't know how lucky he is yet. What with a grandma that can write stories for him, he's got it made!!!

This is a beautiful poem that the author has created here. The writer tells the reader a touching poem about family life and the joys that it can bring.

Bravo! Loud applause as you walk on stage to accept the Pulitzer Prize for a children's book of poetry. This is perfect. That's the only word for it!
That photo is the absolute CUTEST pic I have ever seen of a boy and his dad. I think it would make a great blow up to frame for the wall!
Drat, I am getting a message that I've awarded you a six the limit of four times. Well, it's not a six anyway... it's a ten. **********

I enjoyed this very much Brooke! love the wording and the flow. Introduction to a new creature who chews bubble gum. a creature who gets scared and is comforted by the human. I just loved it. This poem makes me want to meet a green creature with sharp teeth an bubble gum! Thank you for sharing this one!

I like how the green monster turns out to be an okay monster. Great little story, Brooke, one that I'm sure would appeal to children, not only because of the delightful story but the rhyme and meter which makes it a fun one to read aloud. I wonder if you got the idea or the "green" monster from the color of the bottom of Sawyer's shoes--just a thought.
As always, a pleasure to read.
