Hi Sue,
I like this poem of hope and survival against the odds. It certainly teaches us a great life lesson. The sonet form is very well suited to this subject and your flow and rhymes are great. Good luck in the contest.

Great poem with a lesson we can all put to use. It is so easy to absorb negativity, but strong character comes from overcoming that. Wonderful poem - thanks for sharing, and good luck!
