An interesting take on the contest and a well deserved win. I might say that Dixon has definitely changed between Reagan's youth an 25 years, but I suppose it wouldn't seem that way with some one with Alzheimers.

This is great storytelling. You've portrayed the nostalgic feeling well, with poignancy (I just noticed the pun). It is a terrific stand-alone story, but upon reading the notes it became an even more interesting read.

I like what you've done with this. It's sad and unfortunate how this disease wages war on your mind and memories. I enjoyed reading this well thought out and well written work. Well done!

I really didn't need to cry today, so thanks for that.
I didn't know about any of this, so thank you for the information. It was a well written piece, with a lot of heart breaking moments for something so short. I also liked that the reveal was left to the end. Losing my memories is one of my biggest fears.
Good luck, cheers.

This is a well written tale, and that you used Nancy and Ronald Reagan, gives me a strange feeling. It is sad to see how Ronald was at the end, and it is also heart warming to see his Nancy still at his side at the same time.
A good entry

Thank you for sharing my story and your kind praise. Yes, it was a shame to see Ronald Reagan decline so quickly in his last years. Nancy was the epitome of devotion.

Hello my friend
A well crafted flash fiction that follows the contest rules and it's a fine entry for the Time stood still writing prompt contest.
This is a touching story about Nancy and Ronald Reagan.

I liked the twist at the end revealing that he was the president coming back to his hometown, I wasn't expecting that when I started reading. I thought this was a really engaging piece and I enjoyed reading it. Good luck in the contest!

Nancy Reagan was known for her dedication to her famous husband and this story plays nicely off of that. While it is sad, it is also their love story. This is very nicely done and it followed the story prompt.

Alzheimers is a cruel disease, not just for the individual affected by it but for all those close to him or her. Ronald Reagan had a strong bond with Maggie Thatcher when she was the British PM and she had it too before she died. Must be something to do with either having too many bucks stopping on your plate or not having enough sleep!
