Beautiful! Wonderful and lovely! Many thanks for this very beautiful piece; and as well for the points laid out. I shall go back to look up these verses again! Have a blissful day!

I'm delighted to see such a Biblical - and scholarly piece of writing here on Fanstory. I welcome any reinforcement of the Word of the Lord, especially when it is presented in such a logical and easy to follow format. I'm glad you shared this.

Deniz,

When I was a Christian of about one year, I became fearful that I would lose my salvation. I found Scriptures to support my view. When I first heard about Peter denying Jesus three times, I had already wanted to leave God twice. I felt certain there would be a third time, and I couldn't bear it. I begged God to help me. There was a third time, and I became afraid God would give me a trial that would make me want to leave Him forever, and I couldn't bear it. While a friend prayed for me, I took a walk. As I struggled, God reminded me He would never let anyone snatch me out of His hands. That's when I knew God was not a performance-based God, and my salvation wasn't up to me. When I believed it was up to me, I knew I would fail, but if it was up to God, He would never let me go, and I was never again afraid of losing my salvation. He blessed me with that truth.

My favorite: But go, tell His disciples -- and Peter.

Patricia

Thank you for your encouraging words, dear sister in Christ. Many struggle with assurance of salvation; so glad you found the answer. It may be a "rite of passage" for all into a growing spiritual maturity.

Okay, now I feel bad! While teaching my class the order of the books of the Bible I always say, "The 'J' books at the end of the New Testament are in alphabetical order. James, the Johns, the Jude. But don't forget 'Interrupting Peter'! HIs books come right after James." Hmmmm....It's a good way to help them remember, but maybe I need to rethink 'Interrupting Peter'! lol. Poor guy. He was always putting his foot in it, but that's me, too!

Only one thought:

it will be an encouragment to all >>it will be an encourag(e)ment to all

I loved this. Thank you, so very much!

Blessings and peace,
Deb

Thank you, Deb. Yes, we all fall into the error of focusing on the process of maturing while ignoring the finished product. Peter's experience with Jesus is so enriching to our own lives as we contemplate his errors and Christ's unfailing love. Love expressed in numerous ways, so not always immediately perceived.

God bless you, Dennis (encouraged to change spelling of ...um, that word you said...:)

My husbands name is Peter! This was very informative. I liked the information about Peter and you have shed new light on him for me. Thank you for writing this and showing the Bible verses that go with them. Much appreciated. Respectfully, -January L.

Thank you for your kind review! Jesus is the antithesis to death, my friend. Please read the Gospel of John as a favor to yourself?

Thanks for a gracious and receptive spirit...this is one Gospel dedicated to helping us understand real life in Christ who is alive forever more.

That You May Believe. John 20:30,31
30 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

    God bless you!

This was a wonderful testament of Peter's life. It also makes me think of my own. How many times have I went out on a whim and tried to walk on water___. But that is why I am always saying, "I am sorry LORD!"

Thanks brother and I can relate to your experience. Isn't it wonderful Jesus did not go by the old adage; "sink or swim?" in regard to Peter's oft sinking experiences?

I like a bumper sticker I saw the other day, "My lifeguard walks on water".

I think it's a great testament to the faith of Peter and the blessings that would come to the church through his faith. You give a clear, simple, point by point set of moments in his spiritual life and accompany them with clear examples from scripture that underscore those moments. estory

A very well-written prose and look to Apostle Peter from a different point if view. He have turned from a non believer to one of Jesus most trusted and loved apostle of all.

I like here how it is understood that Peter was fallible and failed to live up to his original expectation of defending Christ when he denied him, but he learned from his failed moment and went on to be a success. A very good teachable piece.
