Nice start. I hate coming across something already in the middle. You use a good size font which I appreciate because I have had to skip some stories because the print is so small. Karen

Enjoying your story about the gardens. Wherever the location is, I can imagine the gardens are gorgeous. Weatherbury Estates, is it for real or a fiction setting? There really is a Weatherbury Estates in the state of Washington.

Hooray, hooray!! ;) :) I am so very glad you are jumping on board, Rosemary!! ;) Oh, and TOTALLY fictional... we used to live in a Weatherbury subdivision when the boys were growing up, but it was just a plain ol' subdivision - lol!! ;) :) Hope you enjoy! :) Yvette

'seventeen years old' A ten with a job at a n estate with this precise a job description... He must have had some good references. ' I have been promised the permanent position' and seems to have earned the respect of the estate!
I was wondering 'how' he got the job- a great back story!!!
I loved the first chapter!

So glad to have you on-board, R -- this is a fun easy-to-follow story that provides a complete 'escape-from-reality' for the reader (and for the author as well - wink, wink)... so glad to have you on board with the fun here of Nicholas and his crew!! ;) You be sure to take care out there in your corner of the universe and enjoy the rest of the week! ;) Yvette

I am excited to read all of your words from the beginning of the book! This was a quick and interesting read, and I love the anticipation of the next chapter being as enjoyable. With this chapter, I feel you called three main characters to the stage and introduced them well, and clued us in to their personalities a bit with humor. The ending is key to keeping the reader interested, but I bet most of them, like me, already were.
See you at the next chapter!

What a lovely beginning chapter of your story, Lady Yvette! This story promises to be delightful and whimsical, and I see that you've also won a contest for this particular chapter -- how lovely! Congratulations. Your main character has quite a sense of humor.
The picture is charming, and I like what you did with the font colors.

Okay, I'm hooked. This charming chapter leads so well into the next one, regardless of my exasperation with the foolishness that goes on here, on this site, I want to come back to read more.

My pleasure! I'll try my best because I'm dying to read more. Issues with my pc and glitches with my account keep me away too often, but I will try! If I can't, I'll just have to buy the book!!! :))

Oh, so now I understand the "package" alluded to in the first chapter. It did have me wondering .... I'm impressed with Nicholas's resolve at such a young age. I like the way the story is unfolding. Very much in a natural (unforced way. Loren

Freshen up, reading this piece. It is lovely like roaming in the garden. Grasping dialogues and lovely creation of environment. I will go through each, Thanks!

This reads as rhough interesting events will follow right from chapter one, with the radical change in the staff structure of this large, apparently luxurious old-fashioned property.
