She may be gone but she will never be forgotten! She was a very fine lady who loved life and her grandson! Yes I agree the bird was delivering a message that our Brooke was now happy in the heavens above!

I think that just as our cups can be filled with joy and love, leaving no room for hate or spite, so too, can sorrow and grief fill that cup.
So true. We have lost ones that we called friends. Well done

Yes, Barb. We have lost friends, and for me, as a poet on FanStory, there was no bigger influence than Pam (Gungalo) and Brooke (Adewpearl). There are others, and were back then also, but those two were the go-to poets for me most often.
Thank you very much, my friend.

What a beautiful tribute to Brooke. Your words are so full of emotion, you did an excellent job portraying her talent with your own. Thank you for this beautiful story of the sparrow. I knew her spirit would have to come with a voice, a butterfly is too quiet... she seemed to have another poem to share through the sparrow ð???

A very well-written tribute once more. You must have been very special to her as well that she was sending your the message via the sparrow that came to sing to you a cheerful song.

I really love your poem "A Dew Pearl." The sparrows have a cheerful song, don't they? I expected my cat that sits on the back of my desk chair while I'm on the computer to sit up and take notice while I played the video. She must have eaten too much, she only yawned. LOL!

LOL. Mine merely watches too; no tail twitch. *smile* I have fed the sparrows here for several years, but always on the fire escape. (Out my door and around the corner of the building...)This is the first time one has found my window sill, and it is VERY close to where my cat was sitting and other things that might startle a little bird. Yet this sparrow perched there singing so brightly, and for SO LONG -- I am quite sure it was acting as a messenger.

Dawn,
You too are a masterpiece and a gemstone. This is incredibly moving and beautiful but I expect no less from you. Thank you for sharing. Sparrows are magnificent tiny creatures of which I truly believe carries the souls of all we love.
Take care dear sweet friend. We will grieve for a while but comforted knowing Brooke is without pain and in peace.

Dear Jimi,
You are too kind, my friend. I will treasure this review, and I love the thought that sparrows carry the souls of "all we love".
Thank you.

Enjoyed your tribute to Brooke. I still have the poem I wrote for the book when she passed. Very true words that describe how you knew her. Thanks for sharing and God bless always.

She only passed away yesterday, George. She left FanStory because she was diagnosed -- very ill-- but the book was for her leaving FanStory only.
Thank you, dear man -- God bless you too.

Oh ok thanks for telling me, I was under the impression she passed away when the book was made. I'm so sorry, she had cancer, Right?

I swapped several reviews with Brooke, who tended to rip my crap apart, then give me a five...she adored that grandson, whose name eludes me now...excellent salute to a woman who bordered on brilliant(without the quirkiness brilliance brings).

His name is Sawyer, and Brooke did adore him, as does his mother, Miranda. Like her mother, her posts are full of him (on Facebook). Thank you so much.
Comment from Gloria ....
I have written quite a few tributes to Brooke over the years, her love of rainbows, shamrocks and dandelions of course. I used to read her poetry to my ailing aunt who thought Brooke a genius because she too was a teacher.
So nice Dawn and that little sparrow singing cheerfully was a message. Brooke will never be forgotten.

I think so too, Gloria -- it was a message. I can't think of a nicer memory of Brooke than you reading her poetry to your ailing aunt also. (It equals Brooke's adoration of Sawyer, in my mind -- what joy!) You are very special, my friend. Thank you so much!
