Hi Christine. This poem is a delight and it expresses the night sky's mysteries and how quickly they change. Most of the time we don't even look at the night sky and sort of take it for granted. Luckily it still comes back each night to put on a new show. Marilyn

Hi Marilyn, Thanks forcthis review and I do like to look at the moon in its various stages My Dad used to say that a crescent moon that looked liked a smile was one filled with water so expect rain He was a farmer so perhaps thats how they predicted the weather. Cheers Christine

What a fabulous saying from your father, Christine. I've never heard that before. As a kid certain moon was called a snow moon, indicating snow. Now I know there is one for rain, too. :) Marilyn

A crescent moon in a star filled night sky is always reason enough to stop, gaze and admire the beauty on display. I am yet to see those string either friend, but I know they are there : ) Cool little poem, well done!

Hi meeshu, Thank you and it was a beautiful moon and it just dissapeared I am guessing some dark cloud hid it from sight Cheers Christine

Good poem, Chrissy.

Cool it turned red -- sounds like a 'blood moon', but those are usually full.
Your poem is well written. Is this a type of poem or just like a free poem?

take care,
Nome

Hi Nome Thank you and it is written in an 8 syllable meter with rhyming couplets I hope that helps

It really was a lovely sight
To see this crescent moon that night

A perfect little piece, yet why did it turn red? Guess I must watch it for a longer period next time. See you got a blue ribbon and may it lead to an All the Best, well done!

Hi Karenina, Thank you for reading my moon poem .It was a lovely sight to watch from a yellow to red must have been light reflected so gladmy words painted the scene I always write first then find the image and this was the closest to my memory of the moon ai saw Cheers Christine

I do the same (first the write and then the image)---it's not always easy to match up exactly! Your poem and image worked well....
reply by the author on 28-Apr-2018
Yes sometimes I spend comsiderable time to find the right one usually works Cheers

I agree.....I sometimes post and delete three or four images before I decide the first one was my best instinct after all!

The sheer mystique and magic of the crescent moon in the heavens portrayed here in all its lunar glory opening with a simile and with alliterative inlay

Hi Sharon, Thank you for your review I enjoyed creating this on my view of the crescent moon My Da you to always say if the crescent moon is smiling it is full of water and we can expect rain ai have never forgotten this statement and every time I see it I think of him Cheers Christine

You did a great job on this poem... the picture is stunning, and it complements your words perfectly.. Like you, I love looking at the moon and watching her subtle movements.. Watching her is one of my favorite things to do.. her face is always fluid, changing, and unexpected... she is a moving mystery.. she surprises me every time when I think I have her figured out or can predict her next move.. but then, she seems to be eager to show her disappointment in me, and gives me a frown.. Thanks for sharing..

Hi Air Spriit, Thank you for reading my poem and yes the moon is fascinating and peaceful and just seems to sit there Some moons are magnificant and ai always watch for the crescent moon to see how much rain is coming as my father told me that if the moon is like a smile then it is full of water, and rain will come soon. Pretty accurate too Cheers Christine
