Wouldn't stop reading now. You set up the ending part very well. The thoughts of every family member seems believable and flows well. Can't wait for the family picture.

thank you so much for your kind words. I hope you enjoy Part Four - and I'm sure you will look forward to the conclusion in Part Five. I should have that ready to post by Sunday morning. (I couldn't post the last bit yet AND Part Four is already very long.)
Thanks for continuing to read the saga,

I may have commented before, I'm not sure. However, I would like to know if the line
"Sylvia rolled her eyes at her wife" are what were intended. And if so, if this is a marriage between two women that needs to be explained to a reader.

Hi there; yes indeed. Sylvia is married to a woman. I didn't give an explanation, because I wanted the reader to discover that Sylvia is a lesbian without going into details - it is the twenty-first century, after all.
Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. Part Four will be up within the next day or so.

This is a satisfying chapter. It is well-detailed and described. You gave me many thoughts and feelings to keep me informed.
I still might need a program to keep track of all the players.
Good job.

As I read this, my laptop is unplugged. Outside, thunder roars and lightning flashes in the sky turning the darkness into daylight - if only for a moment.
Thank goodness - my battery is fully charged.
And what does all of this have to do with your story? Conflict occurs in nature, as well.
Thanks for sharing this. JW

They say some families only ever meet at funeral or weddings now we know why. What a mealy-mouthed lot they were, but no different I think than hundreds of other people. You get the feeling the old girl is laughing herself sick over her little trick. Regards Mabaker.

It sounds like a normal family wedding, with all the seething resentments, the unhealed wounds, the offense etc. Great descriptive episode Patty. One gets a feeling of "being there" of being in the narrator's heads. Pat of the atmosphere, well done, good scribing, blessings, Roy

Good Summary from previous chapters. A very visual experience. You really showed the awkwardness of it all and displayed the reminders of how people think in their minds at funerals. You showed how people are not focused on the deceased person. Kathy didn't want to do her job but she fulfilled a dying wish and it is almost done. Nice cliffhanger on the end.

Gotta give you the six stars on this! I enjoyed reading it, and nothing disturbed the flow of the narrative. You did an excellent job of conveying the characters' thoughts and animosity. If there were any spags, I didn't notice them.
Looking forward to the conclusion! Keep writing!
