That was well done. Love the metaphor of the snap dragon.
It is an amusing name for the flower.
Good luck in the contest.

Thank you for such positive words.

Clever poem about snapdragons. You played into the name, and worked real dragons, then tied them together in the garden. Well played.
Take care,
Rhonda

I'm not sure this qualifies, technically, as a haiku, but if it got by The Committee, who cares?
Your "Snapdragon" by any other form name, resonates the same.

Thank you for your observations and encouraging words.

This is so clever. I love the humour it holds whilst, at the same time, being a perfect Haiku. I immediately thought of my own snapdragons and now can't wait until summertime. Well done and good luck with the contest.

Hahaha, while the snapdragon in bloom may look like a lot like a tiny skull, they really lack any real "scare power".
I mean, c'mon, they're just a little flower for gosh sakes!
They do look awfully pretty in a fair garden, though, stalks and all, heh-heh.
It's a bit confusing as to which type of poem this contest wanted--a haiku or a 5/7/5.
They are most definitely NOT the same.
But your well-written entry qualifies as both, so no worries there.
Best wishes to you in the voting!

hahaha...
toothless snapdragon
breathes no fire, scares no damsels
just stalks fair gardens
this is awesome, funny and a well structured haiku. Good job and good luck my friend. You will probably get my vote. So far you are the best one.
