Perceiving the world through the spiritual eyes of understanding, and to the letter from the writer, it is true, everything in the natural origin had been destroyed by evil.Inventors of evil things in the world brought ill effects of the environment like nuclear power energy, factory smokes, gas emissions and many more.Ozone layers cannot be restored.Depletion of soil due to inorganic fertilizer application, plants lack the desired nutrients for man.Such condition saddened the heart of God that people are following the doctrines of the evil. The devil has been defeated at the cross when Our Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins and by His blood all sins are forgiven.God will remake the world though His son, Our Lord Jesus Christ and personally imprison Satan including the false prophets at the bottomless pit called hell. Our Lord desires to have all be saved .2 Peter 3:9.. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to usward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Thanks for writing a unique kind of prose!

I enjoyed this read and agree with you. The world is going downhill and definitely not what was intended. There is so much evil that is around. You are so right about the age of innocence gone and self-entitlement prevailing. On the other hand, I do see kind people in the world yet and people that are willing to help others and for them, I am thankful. Well written piece.

That was the most amazing piece of writing, in a letter to God, I have ever read. No wonder it won. It is amazing. I love the way you used that song, and how easily it fitted to talk to God about your worries, our worries. Congratulations! xsx Sandra

I wish I had found this piece when I still had a six. I honestly think this is the best writing I've read on FanStory. It is such a powerful writing with so many thoughts to ponder about today's world. And what a clever presentation with the Louis Armstrong classic. Your artwork is also fabulous. You deserve much more recognition for this. I hope you will get it published somewhere.

Many thanks for your very gracious words. This one just came out when I wasn't, expecting it. Happens sometimes. Your thoughts are much appreciated, as always

congratulations on your win. This is quite a letter to God, and I think many are mentally writing something similar. We wonder, how long will it be before God just tears us to pieces. Man is self-destructing and possibly that is what He may allow. Sad to think on this no-return situation. Well written. Drew

Very good, well expressed. This is how I feel about the world today. Even the butterflies are disappearing. Remember the monarch butterfly? They were everywhere when I was a child, now there are none. So many things are changing, some for the good but more for the bad. Thank you for your lovely poem.

Gareth, the tune reverberated throughout my reading of your tome - you took this lovely song and bought it into our current - albeit sorry state of affairs. This is simply terrific. Enjoyable, sad and prophetic. Excellent offering. Jean

Many thanks for your thoughts on this Jean. I love this song but sometimes can't shake the reality. Much appreciated and the gift of the stars.

I have no question why you won this contest, Gareth. It is a very powerful write -- your letter to God.
I very much like how you've taken Louis Armstrong's song -- one with hope and happiness and changed it fit the sad things happening in our world today. I like the impact you've created by repeating "Where is our wonderful world?".
Your words move with a great flow, and the alliteration you've used adds to that flow.
Thank you for sharing this fine poem! Alana

Oh, I did like this, and your take on Luis Armstrong's beautiful song. One of my favorite. So right, we do seem to be destroying our beautiful world!
Comma issues: To have blind faith(,)when all around......
I know there is one(,) but when....
I also know(,) we have let you....
and I worry(,) if today's world...
Well done

I think God must be crying at the way His beautiful world is being destroyed. Congratulations on winning the contest!
