I definitely found your writing in this to be on a higher level than the other entries. Not saying that in a way critical of anyone else, it was just an exceedingly well developed horror story given the constraints of only 1500 words. Great images, and the last line was sew amazing (pun intended). Congratulations on winning!

Could be, Cindy...could be. I want Danny's grandfather to play a role in all of the killings going on in Woods Hole, I'm just not sure how I'm going to go forward with the story from here. I intended it to be a stand alone story, but many have indicated they would like to see it continue. So, I'm going to dig deep, and do my best.

Well that was a very good tail. I enjoyed all the different time levels and the conversation was handled very nicely. The story was told clearly and not overly embellished with unnecessary description. I enjoyed this very much, the ending was quite good in the unknown but anticipated events to come. Congratulations on a fine write.

Thank you for your generous rating and encouraging comments, Robert. I'm very glad you enjoyed the story. I tried to fashion it after those old wives tales and ghost stories from myths and legends to make it more realistic. I'm very happy you picked up on that.

This is such a well written and intriguing story. The plot is well thought out and the suspense builds and leaves you anxious to read what will happen next. I think this would make a great suspense movie. Good luck to you in the contest.

Hi, I'm new to your work, but not new to Fanstory. Every year I plan on being here more, but our business seems to get in the way. Regardless. I popped in this morning and saw your story. I love it. So much so, I will become a fan. I love horror, but do not write it well myself. I am more of a mystery type of writer. I have not nits or spags because I just read on without looking. Awesome job. Love it.

Superb! I'm not a lover of horror stories, but this one had my eyes glued to the screen from start to finish. The way you've written this excellent story, makes it almost believable, even in this day and age. I'm off to get my needle and thread right now, because my PJ bottoms have a hole just like Danny's!
