Hi Jewell, you are truly creative and your free verse is a brilliant poem that shouts "inspire me" and yet is so very inspiring with excellent imagery...
I know I have a fountain
waiting to burst upward
to splash upon empty pages
my soul's multi-colored ink
where prisms wait for your light
Shine forth that inner glow
I've seen behind the shadow
in your eyes
Mirrored
our thoughts hide
Reflecting pain
mimicking smiles
dancing between lines
of inspiration
or raw truth
Such an enjoyable read!
God bless :)

Sweet Jewel, where have you been? Seriously? How are you doing?
Your poem, as usual is exquisite. I find that you evoke others to write to inspire you. You are one of the few poets on this site, whom I have actually been inspired to write simply because your poetry asks us to lend to your inspiration, Now I do believe I have to do it again. You make my brain work and my muse wants to go shopping.. lol...
You are such a phenomenal writer, truly, and I have missed you a great deal..... Jimi

excellent use of enjambment to create flow of thought from line to line
intense expression of emotion
excellent consonance in lines like splash upon empty pages and mimicking smiles
effective use of imagery like in life's tapestry

I am not much into free verse but I know wonderful, heartfelt words when I see them. I also understand your longing for inspiration, we who are poets often share these same feelings. I very much liked your word usage and the passion in your writing. Seems to me that you found the inspiration you were seeking in this poem. Keep writing from the heart...Best wishes, Byron

Thank you so much! I often find that if I just start something that ol' block will leave. It won't be the best ever but it will pull the chains off me!
I appreciate you taking the time and for your pretty sixer!

"Or perhaps begin with a kiss and we can go from there..." I have a huge smile on my face as I read that last line, Jewell - could it be any sweeter?
This is highly creative - a refreshing and entirely different look at writer's block? Stifled feelings? Just wonderful!

I admired your free verse yearning for inspiration. I enjoyed your "thread/tapestry" and "fountain/prisms" metaphors. Your shift at the end was effective as well. Cheers- Joan

Seems your muse came through beautifully for you. Great use of extended metaphor with the image of the fountain. Favorite line:Scratch the itch/in my brain. :-)

this is an excellent write, poetic visionary, you did an excellent job creating this beauty of inspiration to the poet's soul, asking for the well to never run dry.
Here's a line to inspire you.
My pen was dipped in golden ink......

When I am dry, as I am, I cannot write. Now look at you... writing and doing a fine job of it. Great colors and overall presentation. I liked the flow of this poem and how you managed to express the pain of lacking inspiration. Well done! Now if only I could just do the same! UGH!
Thanks for sharing this with me.

I think your muse is alive and doing a great job. I enjoyed this very much and especially love the line:
Scratch the itch
in my brain...
Marvelous imagery with this one and I love the artistic presentation too.
