We've already had some snow, so I feel like fall lasted two weeks and then was gone. But that subtle change in the air, it always seems to hit me. Makes me want to go on an adventure or something. But adventures are code for trouble. Lots of trouble. So I guess I'll just have to get my gas fireplace in working order so I can enjoy a cozy fire and some hot tea instead. That's the safer option. ;)

I like your play on words here... the leaves summer behind part. I see the Virgo September lady sweeping a broom around... or maybe a paintbrush... but the 'leaves' makes me think of the changing leaves too.

Leaves summer behind. Great play on words. Just the right touch for this little poem with the great meaning. Loved the art work. Great stuff.

Hey Gretchen,

That was a great play with the word leaves. Here in Houston we are still having summer weather. A/C still buzzing away. I miss autumn.

Hugs,
Lou

The picture and the 5/7/5 poem go together. It's unfortunate for some that summer is gone with all it greenery, but, for me, autumn is the most picturesque time of the year. It's my favorite time. All the beautiful autumn colors are from G-d's own palette. This is what your poem depicts for me. Great job!

I enjoyed this 5-7-5 poem. Your syllables are all fine. I enjoyed your use of words. "leaves summer behind". This is a refreshing change from all the falling leaves poems we usually see on site. Well done!

Gretchen,

Your 5-7-5 is an interesting reminder that fall is here and things are destined to change. It is not my favorite time of the year only because winter follows.

Thank you for the great review. I'm with you on the onset of winter. The nights are pretty and the winter sky is beautiful, but I don't like the cold. Thanks, again. Gretchen

Dear friend,

A reason why YOU are here is, you were put here to inspire me--and others--to keep on writing. I have chosen to take on a seemingly impossible task of writing a book about a person's view of what they see in the letters, L-I-F-E.

Your practically perfect writing PROVES to me, that I am not alone in my quest of finding intelligent people, who are looking for more to L-I-F-E than just occupying space, and consuming oxygen.

There are three kinds of people in America--if not the world:
1. Those that MAKE it happen.
2. Those that WATCH it happen.
3. Those that wonder, "What HAPPENED?"

A REASON for me to be here, is to tell YOU, that YOU belong to Group Number One, so, please, keep on keepin' on!

Carry on my wayward one,
There'll be peace when EW* are done,
Lay your weary head to rest,
Don't you cry no more.

Love, Peace, Freedom,

EDDE

Thank you very much, but I have a confession. I am in the wondering What the hell just happened category a whole lot. LOL. Glad you enjoyed my work and hope to get a look at yours soon. Thank you again. Gretchen

Question, Gretchen, is this your "work" or is writing your PASSION? Just wondering.

    Best always,

I don't think I could live without writing. Exist maybe, but not live as God intended. Did that answer your question?
