Such a wonderful poem and perfect presentation. Yum that lunch looks good.
Excellent meter and free flowing rhyme. A funny and entertaining tale for children and adults alike. You didn't leave anything out. Your poem just bounces along and is so smooth to read, especially aloud. An abundance of alliteration, assonance and consonance to provide creative poetic technique and embellish the crisp sounds and melodious harmony in your poem.
This is the third excellent poem I've read in this contest and is sure of high placement. How difficult will it be for me to vote? Yikes. I would love to get inside a child's head and write a poem like this. Good luck. Hugs - Lovi xoxoxo

You've certainly got the piles of things that a child can consume, with the concomitant tummy aches and sleepiness (at least not the upchucks). I'm sure yours will do really well! Aloha, Yes, the eye infection has passed and I am cleared to use the computer again. I tried to have my granddaughter read stuff to me, but it was too cumbersome to do the reviews so I just gave up for a bit. I am so glad you liked my little bounce through gastronomic goofiness. I never ate that much, but did fall asleep in class and those school-day embarrassments never seem to fade entirely. Hooray for the permit and a huge hug back. - Wendy

Ah yes, those embarrassing days at school. This sounds like it was based on "fact" not fiction, young lady. Very well done and I know at least half of the readers we going "oh yeah!" me too....hope all finds you blessed and your B and B full....Mossmouse

I really enjoyed your competition entry, I remember those same feelings at my school especially after mac and cheese thursday!! History had never been so boring!

Thank you Sidmarks for taking the time to read and review my words. It was always my lot to end up in math or history right after lunch. PE or Drama would have been much more invigorating. I appreciate the kind review and good wishes. - Wendy

This is a strong children's poem - I found it had strong rhythm and rhyme throughout. It was a great story poem with age appropriate words for children.

Thank you Maureen, I try to get in touch with my inner child, but often find that I have aged to the point that she has become a 30 something. I'm glad you enjoyed my reminiscence and feel that I recaptured that moment. - Wendy
