Wonderful! So much truth to be told, and in so few words!
Very well done, and with such feeling!
Keep up the great work.
Sincerely,

Reporting on the sad state of affairs in the Middle East, it is hard to say that I enjoyed the poem. But it is well written, it follows the guidelines and the word conjure clear images of the tragic situation.
You've written a good contest entry - sherry

Very strong message in this piece, one that will touch many. I like the choice of words for the beginning and end to each stanza. Best of luck in the contest. ~W

Very well done. Form followed (and I liked that you chose to rhyme - difficult with five lines). Good Luck!
Thanks for sharing,

This is an excellent entry for the contest. I love the use of phrases like 'cease fire without cease' and 'Holy land's no Heaven'. Powerfully stated. Great presentation. Good luck.

You're welcome. I think we all like to know, specifically, what it was that 'spoke' to our readers. Take care, Marcia

I'm sick of this s**t! Ever since I was 12 years old and the 6 day war broke out, the Middle East was MUCH more in the forefront of my mind than the cold war with USSR. And here it is....still a hotbed of hate - even after I've watched Peace Accord after Peace Accord. Okay, I'm getting off my soapbox now. Thanks much for your review, Hitch. Glad you two got the hell out of there. NZ is definitely a 'heaven'. Yours, Sue

War versus Peace, Hell versus Heaven. Powerful words that provoke many sentiments, happy and sad. You express very truthful sentiments. Nice feelings.

I think you have accurately described the situation in that part of the world - No shock is this ongoing fight.
Just to bring it to your attention, according to the contest rules your last word, 'Heaven', while it is the opposite of 'Hell' (the first word in the stanza), it should be a word that has only one syllable. I didn't deduct stars - let them figure it out in the voting booth.
Anyway, nice poem and good luck.

Whew! Remembered the synonym for hell is hades! Yes. It works. Now I feel this deserves your 5 stars. Big Smiles, Sue

'Hades' works very nicely. I'll be looking for you in the voting booth. Good job.
