None of us escape these experience lines that tell a tale of age on our faces. Let us hope we also gain some wisdom too, I enjoyed your post and your Aunt is amazing at 95! Love Dolly x x x

    Dolly,

She was an extraordinary person. She spoke five languages and worked until she was over 80. Her youngest sister, my mother in law, only lived to celebrate her 95th birthday!

This poem conveys so much so simply and with so few syllables. Great job! I love how you use the wear of time on the body (the face in particular) as a measure of beauty. This reminds the reader that the beauty of life, is too, in the moments we share and lives lived with others.

    Abigail,

Thanks for your kind response to this poem. I really appreciate your sentiments. I had the pleasure of knowing my wife's Aunt for 30+ years. Her youngest sister, my mother in law, only lived to celebrate her 95th birthday.

Hello there. You did a great job with this 5-7-5 and crafted a stellar poem in answer to this prompt. I remember when Helen Reddy debuted this song and have always felt empowered when I hear it. Great subject that you presented very well. Good luck.

    Thanks Melissa!
I knew my wife's Aunt for more than 30 years. Her youngest sister, my mother in law, only lived to celebrate her 95th birthday! Longevity is in their family. My grandparents died at ages 93 and 84, but none of their five children lived longer in years.

This is a beautiful senryu poem and tribute to your wife's beloved aunt. I love this version of beauty you describe particularly given how superficial the world has become. Thank you for sharing.
Best wishes,
Amelie

    Amelie,

She was an extraordinary woman and spoke five languages. I played Scrabble with her and her younger sister, my mother-in-law. The Aunt liked to sip Cherry Kijafa
Liquor while snacking on M&M Peanut candy (-:

It does indeed seem to be thst way doesn't it, I know that scripture loves the grey head, why? Because it's endured, and it's led by wisdom, and where else would it be stored, but in the creases of learning, well done, blessings Roy
